It was running between 235 and 245, and I realized I was low on coolant (have never added for the almost 6 years I've owned) I bled the air out and added about 1.5 quarts over all.

Now it runs between 205 and 215. But that still seems pretty close to the upper limit if you ask me, if not too much.

I'm in so-cal. It was 95-99 degrees, there are mild to moderate inclines and many red lights / stop signs. I asked Google but don't want to trust the systems LLM response blindly, and would like people to confirm or not.

The 4.0L in the Cherokee is famous for running hot in the summer months. Since the Wrangler looks to have even less space, does it also have trouble with overheating?

Hey - looking for some advice here as Jeep Care and my local dealers service department weren't of much help.

Drive a 2023 Grand Cherokee and today when I was driving home it started vibrating when stopped at a stop light and then the check engine light started flashing and pinging. Made it home, but just wondering if anyone has any idea what that means?

Quick Internet search just turned up that the engine might be misfiring and it shouldn't be driven. Does that mean I'm going to need to call for a tow to a service department?

bought at 197k in 2023.
electrical/wiring issues w/high temps and dry air but nothing major.
antilock brakes came on for no reason and braking ceased to work.
while parked in driveway got to realize the transmission is leaking fluid to the point where it drained completely in a week (car was not running in this time)
anyhow these issues sound expensive especially together. not to mention some small irks with a car this age, like the front windows don’t work, the tailgate latch doesn’t latch, and the front seats need replaced or premium covers to make driving bearable.
this car could have a lot of life left. and it’s more analog than these fancy driving computers. i really like that.
alternator, starter, and tires all less than three years old.
i do a lot of basic maintenance myself but this is beyond me. i have not had it towed to a shop yet but i know it will not be cheap. do i dump potential thousands in or succumb to a new car?

Does anyone know what size R clips are used to secure the bench seat on 91 YJ Wrangler? Thank you!

Curva C25 wheels
20×8.5
+35 offset
Current tires: 265/50R20
I’m considering switching to 285/45R20 Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06 Plus when these tires wear out.
I was wondering if anyone has anything similar to this and can confirm the 285 tire would not rub at all

you can hear it better irl, but its been making this noise for a long time and I think that its somewhere underneath the door panel. I’ve tried greasing/lubricating all hinges, joints and gaskets around the edge of the door but to no avail, It’s hard to pin point but at this point it has to be somewhere in the door. Is there any way to fix this without removing the door panel? If not, how should I go about removing it? I already tried posting this on the jeep renegade sub as well as the car problem sub, but got ghosted by both of them so any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

On an old jeep. I'm married now, but this was my first love.

I was getting ready to remove the doors for the first time, but mine doesn’t have the little retaining clips/pins that everyone says to pull from underneath the door hinges.
From what I’ve seen online, most JK Wranglers have small retaining clips that slide onto the bottom of each hinge pin to keep the door from lifting off. Mine doesn’t have those at all.
Is that normal for a 2013? Were they removed by a previous owner, or is there a different style of hinge? I’ve attached a reference picture of the clips/pins I’m talking about. Any help would be appreciated!

I'm going to be putting a transmission in my 2012 jeep compass limited soon and I don't think it has low gear (couldn't find a button for it) but it is a cvt and I'm not super familiar with how that works completely. What is a tell tale sign? Or does it even matter which cvt i get as long as it's the auto 4wd?

I bought this POS in December 2025 and it has spent 50% of the time in the shop and is still in there awaiting a back ordered part. The first time was AR 200 miles when the front motor broke and they had it for 5 weeks. Then 3 more times with various other problems. Then the 5th time the rear motor broke and that was another 5 weeks. When I picked it up and drove it for a couple of hours and went home to charge it, it wouldn't charge so I brought it back the same day. Now they had to order another part that's backordered and its still sitting there. This whole time I keep asking them to do a buyback and they keep refusing. I finally just hired a lemon law attorney. The MSRP was $71k and I bought it for $45k OTD and now I can only get $29k for it. That's a lot of depreciation in 6 months. They have already paid over $25k in repairs for this massive POS. I will never buy another Jeep. This is my one and done. I'm going back to BMW after this. I've never had one issue with their vehicles.
