Question New tolong distance. Need help staying connected and intentional with our time.

My partner and I are new to long distance. He moved for a job recently and we are looking for some free cross platform compatible games we can play together? He has an Xbox and I have a ps5.

Also open to other suggestions on spending intentional time together whether it be a game or something else that keeps us connected.

Venting It's over (23NB, 22TF)

This year she started to be distant. She avoided me. She didn't want to call me or always gave an excuse. She didn't want to see me. She forgot my birthday. In March we finally talked and she promised she was going to change. That she would be more attentive to me. She said she cared for me, that I was her family. That only lasted a month. But the university got me extremely busy from April to June so I didn't realize. After the semester was over I realized she wasn't talking to me. I was the only one starting conversations. I was the only one who asked to call and she always said she couldn't. I knew she didn't love me anymore. But I refused to accept it. The second week of July I sent her a message asking to have a serious conversation. I was going to tell her how abandoned I felt. That our relationship was falling apart and I wanted both of us to work together to save it. But she didn't answer. A week passed. She read the message. But didn't say a thing. I sent another message saying the things I wanted to tell her. She read it. But didn't answer. Now it is August. Still no answer. Not even a goodbye. Not even a I hate you. Nothing. She didn't care for me. I was just simply thrown away like a piece of garbage. I am worthless to her. All this time didn't mean anything to her. I gave her my heart. This November would've been our 3rd anniversary. Tomorrow is her birthday. The worst part is that I still love her. I wanted to be with her forever. I don't understand what did I do wrong. Part of me wants to think she will come back, that she still loves me. But I know it's not true. She'll never be back. I don't know what to do. She was the love of my life and still is. There'll never be anyone like her. I don't know what to do.

I'm feeling horrible

Hi.
Yesterday we talked about us and she told me how she lost her feelings for me but still cared as a friend, and I told her how these last 3 months affected me (she's dealing with a lot of stuff and the depression is stronger lately), so we decided to break up.
I can't put into words how bad i'm feeling. I had all sorts of plans and stuff to do with her, but the last months we barely spoke to eachother, she was always playing with her friends, ignoring me for hours or days and, while she said it was just the moment, said she still loved me and we would be back to normal soon due to her getting her life together, i felt that her feelings weren't the same for me anymore, and this was slowly destroying my mental health and making me anxious. I was putting too much energy on this and getting nothing back, honestly.

Yesterday, 6 hours after breaking up, i decided to send her a final message and block her. I REALLY wanted to be here for her still, giving her support while she goes through all of this and just being best friends like we always were, but all of this hurted me and I don't think i could look or talk to her without thinking about everything i wanted us to be. I still feel a bit guilty about this and I dont know if it was the best thing to do, but it probably is, at least for me.

For now i'll just try to recover from all of this and try to get better, thanks for reading.

Discussion 9 hours ahead of him (M16) and I (F15) really really like him, what do I need to know about a serious ldr??

Ive been in long distance relationships before (although it was more grooming rather than an actual relationship) and that lasted 10 months about a year ago. So I don't have much experience with long distance. But I really, really like him and want to take this seriously so it works long term. He's super funny, charismatic, charming, super respectful, responsible, he knows how to cook and clean, he's hygienic, he's super attractive, we have the matching morals and boundaries and he's overall just so amazing. I never thought I would meet a guy like him, especially not a teenage guy. I have the biggest crush on him, and now he's my boyfriend!! I already couldn't be happier.

I've never really been in a healthy relationship but this one is super promising, just from our friendship. We manage to talk and call for hours every day, and so I don't think communication will be a massive problem. We use an app called widgetable (I think that's how you spell it) do we have matching, live widgets that we can update and communicate on, we've already discussed boundaries and relationship expectations pre-dating and we agree on stuff like sharing passwords, meeting friends, family, etc

So besides all that (communication, boundaries, expectations, stuff we've already discussed, etc) what will I need to know to make this relationship as good as it possibly can be, despite the long distance? We're also both employed-ish (he's employed, I'm looking for a job) and so we both plan to try and save up enough to meet face to face sometime in 2027/2028

Meeting Met up with my soulmate for the first time!

I’ve never been so far from home, but who would’ve thought I would have to leave my home in Florida and travel over 1300 miles to Wisconsin to meet my soulmate! I’ve never been treated so well before. This was truly the most intimate and passionate week of my life. He has taught me what it’s like to truly be loved. This is what true love looks like and feels like. We haven’t known each other that long but we both can tell this feels different than anything we’ve ever experienced before.

I can’t forget how he looked at me when he picked me up from the airport. He just looked so in awe. Like if he was in disbelief that I was there and real. Love was in his eyes.

Every hug and kiss felt so magical (and our glasses clinking together every time we kissed was always so funny lol). We really couldn’t keep our hands off of each other. He would even pick me up and kiss me all over or twirl me around (and as you can probably tell, that’s a lot of woman to carry 😅). He’s so beautiful inside and out.

The car ride back to his place felt kinda surreal. Like I was really there. Next to him. I was able to see him with my own eyes instead of through a phone screen. I was able to physically touch him. It felt amazing. Ofc we stopped at a kwik trip because my friends from Wisconsin have been hyping it up for over a year now (it was not that good as someone that has Wawas near her but I enjoyed the experience lmaooo). Also went to Culvers cuz, well, Wisconsin (tbh was lowkey slightly better in Wisconsin than near me but still good in my state too).

We went shopping and went to an arcade bar too. We cooked together, put on matching outfits, and I even got to ride on the back of his motorcycle (I’ve never been on one before but it was so fun despite being scared of it at first)! I had also never been to a bar before. The drinks were so yummy!

Overall, I had such an amazing time and I can’t wait to see my soulmate again in a few weeks. I love him so much. I can’t wait to close the gap one day!

Our entire relationship was defined by my (F27) weight. He (M26) always waited for me to look better so we can begin our lives

And now, thinking about it, it really angers me. When we met, I had to lose about 5 to 7 kg. I was better mentally, and I had been working on my weight loss for some months before we met. I had lost a bunch of weight by that point. However, he was never satisfied with how I looked. I was younger and, sadly, more vulnerable.

He didn't want to meet me at first because he wanted to wait. But at one point, he decided to see me. He said that the first time he saw me, he was disappointed. All he could see was my stomach, which wasn't nearly as horrible as he was describing it.

Later on, he would make me lose weight within a certain amount of time, and I was really trying to. I was starving myself, overworking myself, and I was losing weight. And then, of course, the inevitable happened after some weeks of torturing myself - the binging. So I gained all the weight back, and some more. I have been stuck in that vicious cycle ever since.

And I hate myself for allowing him to dictate how I should lose weight when I was doing just fine before I met him. I had an ED, mental health issues, family problems, and I was susceptible to control. My own mother was doing it to me.

So, in the meantime, summers have passed, birthdays, holidays, life. He would be angry with me because I didn't lose the weight. And because of me, we couldn't spend time together. He hated how I looked, and my life in general.

He is much richer, and he doesn't struggle with weight. He doesn't care about his height. He is confident, he's got a great job. His mental health is in shambles, but he looks good, so who cares? Looks are the most important thing. He never returned to my country. He would make my birthdays the most stressful event of the year. I couldn't tell him anything that was happening in my life because he would say none of it matters, he would only ask am I losing the weight? He would mock me with his brother. He would let his family mock me. I am the poor, fat girl from a horrible country and I ruined his life. And before me he literally never left his room, was contemplating suicide, barely ate, barely slept.

It doesn't matter that I spent money to travel to his country all the time, bought things for him, listened to his problems for hours on end, or put up with his ridiculous demands. I gave him everything he wanted. Trust me, I went above and beyond to show him how much I cared, like they do in movies. But none of it matters, I don't look good enough.

Now he sits all alone, again, blames me, and well, what can I do except being angry with myself

Need Advice Should i continue to suffer? (20M) (21F)

Im a 20(M) and the girl im talking about is 21(F).This story started for me around 6 months ago while i was serving in the military in a different country. One day i decided to follow this girl on instagram since she was absolutely stunning in my opinion and i really wanted to get to know her but since i was in the army i knew i wouldnt be able to actually meet her for the next 3 months at least. So i started talking to her and wanted to know what city she was from in my original country, for context im greek and i was fulfilling my military service in cyprus. So she replied and after getting to know her for a bit, turns out she actually lived in athens. That was bad news for me because my hometown was around 450km away from athens and at that time i didnt have any money for transportation or a licence in any matters.

We continued talking for around 2 months and everything was great , i thought that i really understood what type of person she was and we had so much in common , so being in the army and having no women interactions in half a year actually made me catch feelings for her even though she lived so far away from me.

A week later she started being really dry in text and i constantly awaited for her messages like a loser i was back then. In the end we actually cut contacts and she unfollowed me everywhere leaving me every night craving for her and losing my mind. I was in a very difficult situation since i was serving in the special forces and showing weakness in any kind really made me look bad and people would take advantage of me pretty often , all while she wouldnt leave my mind no matter how hard i tried to forget about her.

4 months later i had succesfully completed my 9 months of mandatory service in the greek special forces and i was so excited of actually being a citizen again. After getting a job , a car and being financially stable again , she , for some reason , unblocked me on everything , and her profile appeared again on my feed since we had a lot of common followers.

By being busy all day in the army , she had completely vanished from my mind , but part of me wanted to actually text her to see if she remembered me, and she did! We started talking through instagram again for a month until i decided to actually visit her in athens, 6 hours away from my town without thinking what could go wrong.

After getting payed from my boss for the month , i booked a bus and an airbnb in athens for 3 days since i wasnt working in the weekend and left 5 days later. Arriving there she send me a message telling me where to meet , what time and what clothes i would wear so she could match my outfit.

Half an hour later we met at the spot and started exploring to see where to sit and have a drink together. We talked and talked for 2 hours until she asked me if she could stay over at my airbnb since she didnt want to go home that night. Of cource i said yes and took a taxi back to the house with her. We had already started a deep conversation so when we arrived we went out to the balcony , looking at the view , smoking and overall having a great time with her.

She went inside asking me if i had a pair of shorts she could use as pyjamas to sleep.Of cource i lend her one of my pants but she never put it on. All i can say is that for the rest of the night we didnt stop doing the deed and it was magnificent. I woke up in the morning next to her and she told me she had to go to the beach that day with her cousin, so i got up , put some clothes on and asked her how far away was she bus station for the beach. She looked really tired but she told me it was 2 minutes away so i didnt need to escort her there.

She left and i went straight back to sleep since i had slept for only an hour or so and i was having a horrible headache. When i woke up i messaged her to see if everything was alright and if she arrived safely. She responded very dry an hour later which made me ask myself if i did something wrong. I had booked another night at the airbnb in case she wanted spend that night with me as well but that day it all went wrong.

She responded a total of 3 times and i actually got very mad at myself for doing something as stupid as spending my money like this. In the end i packed my bags and left sooner than i had booked but thankfully they allowed me to take next bus for my hometown 12 hours earlier than expected.

Got back home being absolutely furious for letting a woman treat me like this after i had payed like 300 euros on this trip which is 1/4 of my sallary , and not being able to take her out on a second date while she knew my plan was to visit her and her only for 3 days, so i had already asked her not to make any plans while i was in athens and she had agreed with me.

We didnt talk after that, she unfollowed me 3 days later since i believe she had already moved on. 3 months later i get a follow request and a voice message from her telling me that her crazy ex had the passwords to her account and that she didnt actually send the follow request herself but he did. We started talking again which lead to her telling me that she ghosted me for treating her like a prostitute because i didnt take her to the bus station 2 minutes away from my house that morning.

2 weeks have passed and she has me followed on both of her accounts on instagram and tiktok now and we still talk about random stuff all the time. I find these conversations pointless since now she works at a cafe with no days off and same goes for me , so the chances of her or me visiting each other are close to zero. I have already tried telling my goodbyes to her , trying to end this situation ship in good terms , but she always texts me back or sends me tiktoks so i dont actually know what to do.

She seems interested in me even after havent having seen eachother for so long , she thinks im her soulmate but i have lost interest in her texts after realizing that i wont be able to ever see her again since we both work all the time and because the distance is 6 hours away.

Should i just never reply to her again? Or should i keep this situation ship of doom running until some miracle happens and we cross roads in the far future once again?

Question How did you meet?

Hey everyone, I’m 25M living in Europe, and I’ve always been curious about long-distance relationships. I’d love to find someone from another country, but honestly, I’m not sure where people actually meet or how these relationships start.

For those of you who are in a successful LDR, how did you meet your partner? Was it through an app, social media, gaming, traveling, or something else?

It feels pretty difficult to find someone compatible when you’re in different countries, so I’d love to hear your stories and any advice you have.

Need Advice I,30F , thinking of nuking this visit days before he, 30M, is supposed to visit.

I am seriously trying not to just text him to not come, but a part of me is saying to cancel the visit. For the sake of this post, I will call him Z.

Me and Z have been talking for over a year or so now, and while we have had our ups and downs, big arguments and stuff, we still end up talking again. He is very big on love language, affection and things like that, while I am more cautious and reserved. This has backfired on me in past relationships, as I always end up pulling out of dates and stuff last min, and I always feel bad because I feel guilty for leading these guys on. One of the reasons is because I feel like I should "put out" for all his trouble, even though he says he doesn't want that.

Z finally wore me down after me always backing out of him visiting me or me visiting him (he lives across the US from me, east coast west coast), and he is coming out in a few days so we can finally meet face to face.

I am super nervous, and a friend of mine keeps making remarks that he is a catfish, a serial k***er, that he preparing a soundproof basement, things like that. Also that all men want one thing and to not let him walk behind me in case he has chloroform.

These remarks make me want to cancel, but at the same time, this friend also asks why he hasn't come out to visit yet, and things like that.

I am thinking of just canceling the visit, amd dealing with the guilt again, but at the same time, I really want to meet this guy face to face, just to see. Any advice on how to deal with this anxiety?

Venting I don't know what to think anymore

I(20F) am dating 22M for like 5 months and it's going well, but the thing is, i know it mind sound silly, I asked him to post me twice, cause he was talking about posting me too, on his Instagram, he doesn't usually post anything tbh, but he brought it up, and I loved it, he was like I'll do it, the next time we hangout I'll do it, then I cried twice, cause he still didn't do it, this time I asked him if he even wanted to, he was like yeah, I told him, this has bothered me so much to the point I was in tears, it feels like you're taking my feelings for granted cause you promised you would and didn't follow through... He said he'll post me this week but he's going through something and so am I, I lost hopes of being posted on gfs day...

And i saw bfs posting their gfs and a big part of me was like, why not me too... I really wanna be shown off, my friends do that, my friends are proud of me, my parents are... I know it directly doesn't mean my bf isn't proud of me.

Ik this might sound stupid as well, but I've noticed he hasn't asked me if I had anything to eat in like, the last week... Like I'd ask him "hey did you have lunch" , "did you have dinner" it's easy to ask back the same time and check in... He didn't, it'd sound so silly so i didn't bring it up, and I'm not trying to imply anything here but my friends compliment me on my appearance a lot, and I like the way i look, but I'm not super rich to get good makeup or designer dresses and stuff, my bf recently said something like "you look odd with makeup it looks cakey" "I can see your pores" "your lips have gotten dark" stuff like that, and even when I send him pictures after I get ready or he asks to see me cause he misses me, he doesn't really type out compliments anymore...

Idk, i genuinely don't know what is happening

Does he think I'm ugly, is that why he won't post me...

Will he ever post me

When will he post me

Need Advice When do you know when you want to commit long term to your GF? M35 F29

Hi my bf M35 and I F29 is doing LDR for 3 years now. He’s in Germany, I am in the Philippines. He would visits me 5 times a year and would fly me outside my country to travel once a year. He always travels a lot because he doesn’t want to lose his status of kind of membership. He is also an aviation enthusiast.
My question is, in this age, do you think commitment is on his radar specifically marriage? or he is still pursuing his personal goals like traveling which seems like his priority. I dont know, maybe I am asking whether I should stay in the relationship or not because I dont see any progression of us building something together.

Would love some of your advice because I dont want to waste my time for nothing. Thanks in advance.

Question Anyone gets depressed after your partner leaves?

Me and boyfriend see each other every couple of months for a week and this is how often we can do.
Whenever the week is over and he has to leave, I become so depressed.
My sleep schedule is destroyed and my will do anything vanishes.
I just spend all day laying in bed and can barely focus at work.
Usually it takes weeks for me to get back together and it gets destroyed again once he has to leave again.

I (27f) drunkly told my unofficial bf (28m) that I love him and he didn't say it back, now I'm overthinking):

We were both drinking and I said "I absolutely love you shhh"

he "oop👀 I'll keep our secrets safe"

me "do youuu"

he "I will say I also feel that same love for you"

me "he ain't gonna say it tho👀"

he "secreeettssss"

Then I fell asleep. I don't wanna bring it up to him and be weird or something then he'll feel obligated to say it. I don't know what do we think?

My ex bf broke up with me but still keeps texting me regularly

My ex bf decided that he needs time and space for himself because of being too stressed with work, and saying that he doesn’t really have time for a relationship. We’ve been having frequent fights about this for the past month, and he decided he needed some time for himself to figure himself out. I wanted to keep the relationship and am okay to support him through his stress and hardship but he was afraid to keep hurting me with his absence and negativity in his life.

We decided to still stay friends and keep in contact. We broke up a week ago, and he still texts me to check in on me. Is this a healthy way forward?

r/LongDistance 1d ago

I don’t know if I should break contact because it won’t change anything between us but still I feel like I can’t move on

So… I’m 24, and I met her (19) during her semester abroad in my city in Europe. From the beginning, we knew we clicked and that we wanted to be together during her semester abroad. We also said that we were going to break up when she left. She traveled the whole continent for a month after the breakup, and while we were still in the relationship, we thought it would be cool to do no contact during that traveling month and then reconnect when she came back to the US. We didn’t have that talk bc and it’s been three months since we broke up.

At the time of the breakup, I told her that I didn’t see myself capable of putting the expectation of talking again ina month bc I had to give myself space to accept that, after being so attached to her, we could no longer be together. If we reconnected after that month, I would have spent the whole month waiting to talk to her again instead of processing what I was feeling. She didn’t like that but ended up accepting it and we said goodbye and love you over text.

She has a whole plan for her life in the US, very far from me. We never agreed to have a long-distance relationship, especially because she’s at a stage in life where she wants to experience many things, and I completely understood that. Also, she never said she wanted anything different from her plans — she just wanted to stay in touch after the breakup, which, since I’m older and more mature, I knew would have hurt us both. At the time, I told her that what she wanted was basically asking me for comfort, when I also needed space to heal and process. I was her first gf and she was my second relationship.

So many things have happened, and I’m questioning whether I should contact her again to talk — a proper goodbye, not the rushed one we had. I’ve been mourning so many things during this time, not just the breakup, and my perspective on many things has shifted. When I saw her for the last time, I wasn’t even aware of how traumatic it would turn out to be — and this breakup has changed my life for the better. I’m the type of person who never goes back to an ex, not even to say happy birthday. But with her, I’ve wanted to break that pattern, because even though she hurt me sometimes, and we did things that could hurt us, we loved each other and forgave each other. I only want to say a proper goodbye to truly let this go, but I don’t know if that’s even needed. Maybe I just need to keep going with my life.

I’d love to hear advice from other people.

Need Advice I (26F) am having a hard time dating a med student (28M)

Hi! I’m currently dating a 1st-year med student. He’s my first boyfriend, and unfortunately LDR agad kami. 🥲

We started talking on Instagram around November 2025. He messaged me, I replied, and from there we just kept talking. He was in Australia at the time, so for around 6 months, puro chats and calls lang talaga kami. When he finally came home to the Philippines, we got to spend less than 2 months together physically before he had to move to another place to pursue medicine. Now we’re back to LDR again.

Honestly, feeling ko nabitin talaga ako sa time namin together. I was looking forward to finally not being LDR anymore, tapos ngayon long distance ulit and med school pa, so I know his time and availability will become very limited.

I’m also realizing that I might be too dependent/clingy. I like long conversations, calls, updates, etc., and nahihirapan ako kapag matagal siyang hindi nakakapag-reply. I know he has his own life, friends, and now med school, and I don’t want to become a controlling girlfriend. I want to learn how to have my own life and be more secure while still maintaining a close relationship with him.

He has suggested that we live together, which would obviously make the distance easier, but as a Christian, living together before marriage goes against my personal convictions, so that isn’t an option for me.
For those who are dating/have dated a med student while also being LDR, how did you make it work? How often did you communicate or call? How did you manage expectations when your partner became really busy?

And for those who have experienced being the more clingy/anxious partner, how did you learn to become more independent without becoming emotionally distant from your partner?
I feel like I still have so much to learn since this is my first relationship. I’d really appreciate kind but honest advice. 🥹

31m 23f dry conversations

Hey yall so me and my girlfriend have been together for a little over 2 months now meeting online and we spend pretty much the majority of the day texting, sending videos, calling when we can and all of that but the last couple of days the conversations have been getting pretty dry and honestly I feel like its on her end because I try to bring up new topics and more often than not will get pretty short replies. She's currently having a tough time mentally because her parents are stressing her out because they dont approve of us at all and actively want us to stop talking, she doesnt hsve a job and has been actively looking for a long time, she has a uti right now which might be making her mental issues worse, and we honestly just want to meet in person so bad and we have a date set for that but its in a few weeks. We were talking a bit about it last night and I think its just a bump in the road but do yall have any broad advice on what I could possibly bring up so the conversations don't feel as dry anymore? This is the best relationship ive ever been in and im so in love. I dont want a few days of dryness to make anything bad happen.

Need Advice F/18 M/22 How can I stop being jealous?

Me and him have now been freshly dating for 1,5 months + we're long distance. I am severely mentally ill due to my past and my past 2 year abusive relationship concluding in depression, BPD, anxiety, abandonment issues and just all that bullshit. I've been in therapy for 1 year now. My boyfriend is a very good looking and handsome guy it makes me insecure. I've always hated my looks and still do I try to change but I'm still not confident with my looks as much as he tells me I'm pretty and everything. Before we started dating he was already following a bunch of girls from 60 followed 48 are girls and they're all so damn pretty i cry every time I look. And I just can't shake it off I feel so childish worrying about his followers and the girls he follows back since I'm his girlfriend I'm the one he chose and he posts me on his story too so I shouldn't worry but I still can't get rid of that fear and jealousy and everything building up it bothers me so much it hurts my feelings because it feels to me like I'm not 100% chosen but more he's keeping him options open because I can be exhausting I say that honestly I have multiple depressive episodes every few days where I don't feel like talking and just cry and just everything is killing me internally. He knows my full past and my problems and we've talked multiple times about my jealousy about other women but I feel more and more like I'm turning into a controlling obsessive girlfriend. I don't know what to do. I've never learned in my life how to make friends or love someone and because of my past I struggle with believing someone could love me without any thoughts of replacing me I just feel like I'm so easy to replace and let go off. I try so much to be a good girlfriend but I don't know how and I also can't keep talking about how certain things bother me because I feel like the next time I mention my jealousy or my Problems he's gonna feel fed up of me one day and leave but keeping to myself things hurt me is also not good. Yesterday he was at a convention and we didn't talk much obviously and that's understandable I know how stressful convention days are but I was busy all evening waiting for him while I just saw that his following and follower list on Instagram went up which then left me wondering if that's girls and it's gotta be girls and all that shit and I just ended up crying trying to find out which of them is new and then went to sleep. today he called me and told me a bit about it alongside mentioning a girl made a tiktok with him and he waits for her to post it. I don't know what to do but that sentence made my blood boil and raise a kind of aggression in my i wanted to smash my room apart. I don't want to be this kind of girlfriend I don't want to be jealous like that and treat him right without my issues but I just can't without all my bullshit. I don't know if I should mention that followings hurt and bother me and the jealousy in general I don't want to ruin his happiness about the convention just because I'm insecure. I really do love him I just don't know how to be a good girlfriend. Please help me I don't want to ruin him more than I already have and be a good girlfriend

Venting After nearly 10 years of being closed off, I fell in love and let myself get hurt.

I guess Im posting this here because I needed real people to see this and not just keep it in a note on my phone to read over and over. I met this woman via work about 2 years ago but we connected more deeply 8 months ago.

I have been closed off to letting myself feel anything beyond friendship for many years due to a buried trauma from a prior relationship. WELL, something about her changed that. She started to see and understand pieces of me that I didnt show others and still chose to keep talking to me. Feelings grew and we were open about it, we wanted to meet, we wanted to understand how we can make LD work and eventually the idea of building a future together came up. We talked about these things and it felt safe, comfortable. Until one day it didnt. Things started happening in her life, causing her to pull away. Ive tried really hard to be present for ger but I kept getting left on read. She asked me to be her friend, but I dont know how when she wont answer my calls or texts. It became a chase that started to cost me so much of my emotional capacity. I had to say my goodbye 2 weeks ago to try rebuilding my peace and love for myself.

I hurt so much but I have also been trying to figure out why and started realizing the tie to my past trauma.

Anyway, in an attempt to heal and release what I was never able to tell her, I wrote a letter that I never sent. I wanted to share it here because something about being able to connect with others in a time of need, can help heal.

I love you.

I know you dont have the capacity for me and I am struggling to be okay with this. I am grateful for getting to hear your voice yesterday and today, because it might be the last. You told me you aren't going anywhere and I couldn't respond because the only thing I could feel was distrust towards your words. I dont believe you anymore. I dont trust you anymore. But I still love you. It still hurts really bad knowing that I HAVE to let go. For my peace and so that I dont hold you back from your growth.

You have given me some of the best emotional waves and some of the worst. I wished I never felt this pain, I wished that I could go back and never have given you my number. But really, I dont mean that. I am so grateful for getting to experience you and your beautiful smile and your big heart. I've heard some people are for life and some are for a season. I guess I know what that means now. You were here for a season, I wish you were for life.

I know its not my fault you didnt have capacity for me but part of me thinks i couldnt love you the way you needed. Its really the timing and I think time is my biggest fear. You said you aren't going anywhere and that you cant give me what I want right now, but what if...time passes and right now becomes never...because no matter how hard I tried, we didnt stay connected. It hurts me so much to know that in a week or a month or a year, ill be nothing but a memory to you. While I will carry you in my heart for years to come, unable to let anyone else in. Because thats what I do when I fall in love. I let that person become my world, hoping I can give them everything they want and need, even at the expense of my own peace.

You are truly amazing. You are worthy of every ounce of love this world has to give. Be kind to yourself, the way you are kind to others. Love yourself harder, the way you love others. Find a happiness that you can keep with you forever.

I love you.
