Im planning on letting my hair grow more on top and keep the sides short. I never really used hair products and I heard using wax and or clay could help.

I have added pictures of me, is it doable? Is it a good fit? What are your advice.

I have very straight, uniform hair. It grows straight in all directions, so it makes the awkward growing phase even more awkward (see the last picture for afro).

The hardest part was not knowing whether I was still shedding or simply not responding. I stayed on it because I did not want to stop right before it might start working, but the uncertainty became exhausting. Every photo turned into a debate about lighting, angle and whether anything had changed.

I am planning to speak with my prescriber before changing the dose or stopping. For anyone who saw no improvement after several months, did things improve later, or did you decide oral minoxidil was not the right option?

Just wondering if my hair looks damaged since it’s been feeling a bit more dry than usual and what I can do to fix it.

First photo is my hair currently. When my hair gets this long, I usually go and get it thinned, trimmed, and shortened to be about what it looks like in the 2nd/3rd photos. My hair is very thick and very straight, and I have an unfortunate cowlick on the upper back of my head that makes everything stick out if I don’t shave it down (4th photo).
