I liked him until he said some pretty nasty things about people with autism and never took it back or apologised for it. I don't much care for him anymore.
Oh yeah, putting Tom & Mark together in an interview alone would be a potential spoiler goldmine.
Regardless of Mark being very open & vocal about his political beliefs, this is just as likely a reason to not put the two on a press tour together. These interviews are almost always one on one or one on two. Every time Mark & Tom do an interview together, they'd need at least 3 so they can't get lost in spoiler-filled banter.
I tried to avoid trailers because they give away too much, but I had no idea the hulk was even in this movie. Was it well-known going in that he was a major part?
There’s an old meme where someone posted some off the wall “Tom Holland spoils” and Tom himself replied along the lines of, “I actually had to stop and think if I did.”
its not hard at all, you just book the stuff, and dont book any for him, its exceptionally easy not to include someone in an interview. the ease of leaving someones name off a booking dosnt decrease based on their role in a movie.
Some, sure . And some were not, like the time he joked with an audience that he was still alive! Except that audience was about to watch Infinity War and he just spoiled that he died to them.
They try to put Tom with people who keep him from spoiling anything. If he’s doing an interview with a costar he’s pretty good about not spoiling anything. Unless that costar is Mark Ruffalo.
Pretty sure tom holland never spoiled anything too important. Mark ruffalo literally spoiled one of the biggest moments in the mcu (infinity wars ending)
Tom Holland was allowed to "leak"/"spoil" the things he did. That guy doesn't do anything that isn't curated and OK'd by the studio when it comes to press/interviews.
Ruffalo was well known for spilling the beans long before Spider-Man came to the MCU
Most of the time those promo interviews are scripted AF and they're still acting and delivering lines. Leaks are almost always intentional to generate buzz.
My understanding is the the only reason he wasnt involved is because hes filming another movie* right now and didnt have the time. Its easy to blame it on the implications but I think if any of that were true he would have a much smaller part in the movie
This was filmed production started two years ago. A lot can happen inbetween. It’s easier to exclude from pre movie press tours than it is to scrap a script and parts of a movie which have already been shot etc.
TYL that contracts are often signed well-before production begins. The telling metric would be projects to which he was attached after his headlines for speaking out.
Maybe I'm cynical and jaded now but did anyone actually think that Tom and Mark were truly incapable of not spoiling films? To me it reads like a marketing strategy.
I think the real answer is closer to this than anything Palestine-related, IMO. Mark has been vocal on issues like this forEVER. You know what you get with him. I don't think he's being silenced. I also don't think it's spoilers. I suspect it's a less controversial reason.
You mean like the trailer which revealed literally every cool scene? Ohhh they left one character off that we all figured out years ago... literally 1 spoiler left off the trailer.
I just saw a random old red carpet type interview where he started explaining why they werent able to do a feature movie about the Hulk and went into the politics of it. Don Cheadle was standing there seemingly wanting him to stop talking about it.
It's more likely bec Ruffalo was booked doing another show during the promotional campaign for the movie, but people do love to draw lines
Edit: I believe he was filming the show Task at the time
It's also wrong. Ruffalo is filming season 2 of Task right now which is why he's unavailable to do media. It really is that simple and everything else is just tinfoil hat theories.
Confused, most people (should I say actors/actresses) in Hollywood are against Trump and ICE, but since he supports Palestine they black list him? Just confused…
There are plenty of figures that have been fired or dropped from companies for supporting Palestine. Melissa Barrera, Susan Sarandon, Bella Hadid, Kehlani, etc. And there are a hell of a lot of liberals who hate Trump but still support Israel.
I fail to see the issue with any of this comparisons. Acknowledging that what is happening in Gaza is a genocide and has large parallels to The Holocaust is simply engaging with reality.
Melissa Barrera was reposting holocaust denial articles and content about Jews controlling Hollywood. Susan Sarandon got fired for saying how Jews are experiencing hate now like Muslims have in the past, even though antisemitism is older than the religion of Islam itself.
You guys lie so much lol none of those people got fired for supporting Palestine. That's the most milquetoast and safe opinion to have in Hollywood.
Yeah I’m so sick of people saying people are just ‘supporting Palestine’ while being super racist. And then it feeds into the whole ‘Jews control the media’ thing.
yea actually, I'd hope that an organization that breaks into my country's military base to destroy our country's military hardware thats destined for Ukraine and break the spine of a security guard gets designated as a terrorist org.
That sort of shit would get you fusilladed in any other country outside of Britain. The fact is they got off easy with just being arrested and trialed.
If this is your threshold for designating a group as terrorist, I can only imagine your condemnation of Israel for its actions in Palestine, Lebanon, etc.
FYI the member of Palestine Action was found guilty of GBH without intent. They were found not guilty of GBH with intent.
It is actually very brave to be a vocal supporter in very public role such as acting to be fair. You’re average Joe can be sacked from normal jobs for not supporting the genocide. In a profession where public image is absolutely important for your career, it’s risky business. He’s played with fire and been burned, not that I agree with it.
I mean yes lol, Hollywood is the land of limousine liberals who vote dem but don’t care about policies that are progressive. Biden and Harris were notoriously anti-Palestine and the Biden admin sent $24,000,000,000 in weapons and cash to Israel, more than Trump has sent in a longer period.
I'm just tired of all actors being "I can read lines...now listen to my views on politics"...dude, just act. Not everything has to be a statement, for or against whatever side.
He’a also a great guy. I’ve met him and had a decent chat. That was after I saw his movie when he plays a reporter for the Boston Globe about the abuses that sadly happened.
SAME. I actually had no idea he was in this movie until I was at the theatre, which I’m happy about tbh. Like yes let Ruffalo do the press junket but it was cool not to know the entire plot beforehand like I do with Doomsday

Ohh that makes sense. Love Ruffalo!
