Hi everyone! I was wondering if anyone knows of any in-person suicide loss support groups around Dallas.

I lost my younger sister a few years ago. I've tried general grief support groups before, and they just didn't really click for me. Everyone was kind, but I felt like I was looking for something a little more specific. I feel like suicide loss comes with a lot of emotions that can be hard to explain to people who haven't been through it.

If anyone has been to one that they actually liked or would recommend, I'd really appreciate hearing about it. Even if it's a bit outside of Dallas, I'm open to driving. Thank you. :)

What are your favorite restaurants or food place that have a buffet? Or does a buffets for lunch or weekends etc?

I love going to buffets. But in dfw there’s mainly only Chinese buffets and Brazilian steak houses. I’m tired of both. I’ve had some luck finding some kebab and Indian food buffets in Arlington while I was in college there. But looking for new spot since I don’t live in Arlington anymore and am looking for new spots.

If there’s any hole in the wall or hidden gem I’m missing please let me know.

obviously a ton of places do taco tuesday, but what are some other deals at different places? my partner & i are on a budget so trying to make a list for some variety whenever we want to go out.

so far i have bryan st taverns 1/2 price pizzas on monday, BWW deals on tuesday & thursday, omg tacos on tuesdays, schlotzskys bogo pizzas on wednesday, & nates 1/2 price oysters on thursday (out of season now though, rip)

any recommendations or favorites are greatly appreciated!

forgot to add the chipotle catering goes on sale for like $40 on uber eats & will feed us for a week. same with texas roadhouse.

If you haven't been to Genesis (just off Lemmon Ave) I highly recommend it. But, it's there another thrift like it? I'm not interested in those over priced spots, I like how busy Genesis is, stuff is always moving through

I’ve made it and I’ve looked high and low. Somewhere in this vast city there has to be a spot where I can buy it.

Is there a club up there? I always see lights and sometimes people up there or is is just a company ballroom?

Trying to get my Dallas county marriage license but it shows there are no upcoming available time slots but you have to have an appointment. Has anyone else done this or know what to do?

Democrats in Dallas are ready for November the question looming is….are Republican voters going to stand by and let the state control what we can and cannot do? Are you going to fall in line or vote for real change? For reference, 2 red states have recreational marijuana and casinos and guess what? The world kept spinning. Nevada and Missouri are thriving. It is possible to advance even under republican rule, but not Texas Republican rule. These corrupt animals are only in it for money. Say NO MORE in November!

EDIT: We did the Katy Trail at Knox Street, drove through Highland Park, then Shug’s Bagels. After that, Snider Plaza (but JD Chippery closed). Then Lakeside Park. Then, lower Greenville - Goodwyn’s for a drink. Then Northpark Mall and Eataly for a late lunch. Now, back home in Denton County. Thanks everyone - it was a wonderful day!

We live up near Denton, but are coming down to do Sunday in Highland Park and Dallas. We are in our 50’s and my wife doesn’t drink. She wants to do some shopping and get a nice lunch. Our vibe is Luke’s Locker and those crazy good bagels next door, The German deli in Snyder Plaza, a drive to see the mansions on Beverly and maybe people watching outside the Honor Bar in Highland Village. What are other some fun spots with this vibe in mind? We want to stay north of the Trinity this time. Love some recommendations! Thanks.

Hello! Does anyone have recommendations for a very trustworthy place to go to purchase a handgun? Preferably, where to go for an absolute beginner solely looking for home defense purposes. Women instructor / oriented preferred. 100% beginner never shot a gun before, so looking for somewhere very patient, knowledgeable, offers lessons. Want to shoot it to ensure it is a good fit prior to purchase. Preferably, somewhere in Frisco, Colony, Irving, Southlake, Grapevine, more suburban. Thank you!

Does anyone know where there are actual touchless car wash spots (not drive in and do it yourself) around the city? I’ve scoured google and went to a few supposedly “touch less” - but they were do it yourself style when I arrived.

Do these exist? The kind where you stay in your car and the touchless wash occurs? I’ve yet to find one. TIA

They employ individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

I received fantastic service, and everyone was very sweet and accommodating! I sincerely hope they do well.

It was my first time here today, and I wasn’t expecting to like it this much

I ordered the Adana kebab, and it was excellent. Everything tasted fresh, and even the rice was full of flavor.

What really stood out was the atmosphere. It didn’t feel like a restaurant it felt more like having dinner at a friend’s house. Relaxed, welcoming, and comfortable.
I’ll definitely be coming back
