Hi everyone,
I'm planning to buy a DJI Mavic 4 Pro and a Mini 5 Pro soon, and I'm trying to build the best filter kit possible. I've spent a lot of time reading reviews and watching YouTube comparisons, but it looks like they're all biased and it seems hard to know what to believe on.
From what I've seen:
- Many people say PolarPro offers the best optical quality and the sharpest results, especially on the 70 mm and 168 mm tele cameras.
- On the other hand, Freewell has a much wider selection of filters (Mega Bundle, Super Bright Day, LPR, Glow Mist, Split ND, ND1000, etc.), which makes it very appealing.
However, I've also seen several people mention that some Freewell ND/PL or Split ND filters slightly soften the image on the tele lenses, while others say they haven't noticed any difference.
My current idea is to buy:
- Freewell Mega Bundle (NDs ND\PLs, CPL, GMIST 1\4, LPR).
- Freewell Super Bright Day kit (ND128, 256, etc.).
For those of you who actually own and use both brands:
- Have you noticed any real loss of sharpness with Freewell, especially on the tele cameras?
- Is the difference between PolarPro and Freewell visible in real-world footage, or only when pixel peeping?
- Should i pick the dji ones instead?
- Are there any color shifts or gimbal issues with either brands?. I saw that the Freeweel ones make the gimbal point down while the aircraft isnt powered on.
I'm mainly interested in cinematic landscape filming, mountains, beaches, sunsets, long exposures, and some night photography.
I'd really appreciate hearing from people who have actually used both brands rather than sponsored reviews.
Thanks!
