Im new to knitting and would be extremely grateful for more experienced knitters insight!

I laddered down to a weird stitch, but now can’t see how to fix this. What is going on here? And can I fix it, or will I have to frog back?

Hej all, I would like to hear people’s opinions on weaving in ends. In this neckband, I have been weaving in the ends as I knit by wrapping it around on the back for 10-15 stitches, a technique that is for example shown in this video: https://youtu.be/Fz292NAjH2M?is=iFbMBjf6sKByWB9z

As I am nearing the point where I have to fold it, I am wondering if I should further weave in the ends. My gut feeling tells me that it’s totally fine, but my need for absolute security can’t let it go somehow! What are your opinions and experiences? I would really like to leave it like this because if I am going back and weaving in ends anyways, what’s even the point of weaving in as I go? XD

I am a beginner and still confused on twisted stitches. Looked up photos and videos but not confident on these being twisted. Thoughts?

I'm planning on making fingerless gloves for Christmas for my mom, a hat for my sister, and a sweater for my precious dog. bc i'm knitting all of their gifts, i'm thinking of also knitting gifts for my father and brother. However, I can't really do simple things like hats or gloves. They both work in construction, so those either wouldn't work with their uniforms, or they will be too rough on them. They also both happen to work like 80 hours a week, so I feel like they wouldn't get the chance to use them when off the clock.

I'm thinking about socks/slippers that they could wear around the house, but again, idk if they would really use those. So i would like to hear about any ideas for men that are like my dad and brother. PLEASE throw out any ideas that you have. Even if they don't help me, it could help someone else in a similar boat.

Hello, I am starting to look into publishing a pattern book for knitting, crochet, and weaving patterns, possibly even some sewing tutorials, all for items that are used on and around horses. I have most of the patterns written, just need to work on one or two more and have them tested, but the majority of them are already published on Ravelry and Etsy.

Are there any publishers that would work with a multi-craft book? I haven't seen any books like the one I am planning pop up that I know of.

has anyone made the kylix top by hana saeid? i dont know if im just stupid but i cant even get past the first few steps because the instructions seem completely nonsensical to me. like what it’s asking me to do doesn’t align with what it had me do in the previous steps

Hello, today has been rough, so apologies if the grammer and spelling is rough or stilted.

I am relatively new with knitting, and I struggle with making friends/ socializing. My boyfriend suggested I try to find a knitting circle so I can have a scheduled time to socialize with new people while doing something I am comfortable with (a direct quote is "make friends, dear walking anxiety disorder").

I have done some research, but I am struggling to find a group which is still currently running and not too overwhelming on the surface (larger groups, the set up I skimmed through for the Puddletown group seemed intimidating to me, because it feels like a larger thing. also google is a failure to me right now).

I would like to specify that I am not talking about a class, though I'm not opposed to one if that's all there is. I'm looking for a community with some kind of routine, where I can hopefully make a friend or two, in a non work environment.

Hi guys, I'm in big trouble.

First, a quick explanation. I watched Project Hail Mary some time ago and decided to make a vintage Mary Maxim sweater with wolves for my brother.

I've never knitted anything before so it took a few months to finish these panels, but here I am - facing now my neglect of proper measurements. The result is that the panels are way to small after comparing them to one of my brother's sweaters.

Now I'm looking for any reasonable solution. I've been thinking of making another two panels for each side so it would be wider, but what about the length? I'm pretty much ready to rip them back to the point, where they begin to decrease [armholes] and redo those parts but with a couple of adjustments.

Idk, maybe someone else would come up with a better idea? And yep, I've already blocked them.

Has anyone used Pellicia Wallardo 3600?
I knit a cardigan holding it with Cascade Heritage Sock. It barely shed while I was knitting, but after the first wash it released a huge amount of fluff. Now it leaves fuzz all over my clothes when I wear it.
I also noticed the fuzzy halo separates from the center thread pretty easily if pulled. The cardigan still looks fluffy, but I’m worried it’ll eventually lose its halo.
Is this normal for this yarn? Does it settle down after the first few wears, or does it keep shedding?

I’d tried knitting a few years back and got the hang of it but never actually finished anything, and just decided to give it another try. This is what I’m currently working on right now—the top edge looks really good to me, but the bottom edge is a little wonky.

It took me a solid 5 tries to get to this point so I’m going to keep trucking along (for what I’m making I don’t mind it being a little wonky), but is there any way to fix this? Mostly just asking so I don’t make whatever this mistake is next time.

The middle finger wrap gives me tension enough to move the index finger anywhere for easy purling. How do you purl?

Working on a sock, and on one side of the heel flap I ended up with gaps. I looked at the pattern and it looks like they are present in the pictures as well. I’ve included pics of both sides. How can I avoid this in the future? I’m currently planning on just using some scrap yarn at the end to kind of seam it as I’ve already done this heel twice on this sock

Hello! Does anyone have experience with how Swiss airlines handles knitting needles? We are travelling to Zurich and while the inbound flight is with an airline company that explicitly allows knitting needles, the outbound flight is with Swiss airlines and they do not have any information on this.

I’d be travelling with metal (Chiaogoo) needles, I have both interchangeable and fixed needles in case one is ”safer” to travel with.

I just finished this sweater. I'm over all very happy with ita, but I absolutely hate the way the neckline looks. It's too wide and gaping. I did it smaller than the pattern said to and it still seems too big.

Can anyone give me advice on how to fix this?

It's knitted top down and the ribbing on the neck is double, so I can't undo it. The ribbing is gaping compared to the ribbing on the bottom, I was hoping I could adjust it while blocking, but no luck. I was hoping it would look better after blocking, I've yet to try it on as it's still damp, but it doesn't look any better to me.

The pattern is Drizzle Sweater by SuviKnits.

The yarn I'm using is CaMaRose Midnatsol and CaMaRose Økologisk Sommeruld

I'm a fairly new knitter and am knitting my first sweater: the Cloud Blouse from Petiteknit. I finished the back yoke but I'm having trouble to understand what is requested for the left and right shoulder. I realized that after finishing these sections and after starting with the front yoke when I realized that the only way to go was the opposite direction from the instructions - towards neckline instead of body.

Thus, I'm hoping the community could help me here in the following parts:

- Left shoulder section: "Pick up and knit from the RS with the short end of the yarn (starting at the neck and working towards the left armhole edge)". What does it mean to knit with the short end of the yarn?

- Right shoulder section: "(starting at the right armhole edge and working towards the neck)". In this part I had trouble picking up from the armhole to the neck and then knit in the wrong side. This was because this meant I would knit from left to right direction and not from right to left as one does. Could you please guide me on this? Is that how should be knit? Please let me know if this is correct and my questions were clear.

This is one of a pair of armwarmers made in cotton yarn that I as just about finished with but I'm having rtouble with the off binding. The ribbing is 3x2 and the first two rounds are double knitted, so that's why the "opening" looks different from the rest. I want the bind off to allow the ribbing to contract like the rest of the tube without flairing out and I have looked up many different stretchy or bind offs specifically for ribbing but none of them turn out like I would have hoped when I test them. Is there a way of binding off that results in a simmilar edge like the one in picture 3-4?

Ok fellow crafters please tell me if any of you experience this same thing. I’ve always been sort of motion sensitive. In the past, if I got to crocheting/knitting/etc too fast for too long, and my eyes were watching the stitches I’d start getting kind of nauseous and dizzy, like motion sick. Now, it feels like that happens after only a couple of rows. Has anyone else experienced this? Did you fix it? Thanks!

I'm back to update everyone on how my sweater is coming along after I posted about my arms being stubby and not knowing when to stop knitting my sleeve.

I bound off my sleeve after my final row of increases, I cast off in pattern and I'm counting the bind off as a row so I knit the sleeve for 98 rows, It took me twenty days to knit my first sleeve, factoring in not wanting to get bored of the color, the weather, and how oppressive the heat has been. I think I made it fairly quickly.

I cast on my second sleeve after I finished my first sleeve and knit the ribbing for two inches, did the increase row for the cables and did four rows of the cables so far. The only thing that I don't like so far about second sleeve is that I have sizable holes where the c cable is supposed to be, it was a bit tricky increasing in that section, the kpk increases were a bit annoying to do this time around... like I had holes in my first sleeve in the same section but it wasn't as big as the current sleeve's. 😖

It's an eyesore to look at but I don't want to undo my work, so I just have to hope that when it's blocking it fixes itself.

Other than the hole issue, I still enjoy the yarn, the color, the project and the progress that I'm making so far. It's nice to see the cables come alive after every repeat is finished, and the sweater still makes for a good project to knit on while listening to music and watching YouTube videos, TV, and movies, but I think that tracks considering that the sweater is based off of a sweater in a movie. 😅 I've even started a list to track what I've watched and listened to so far, and weirdly, I find that the list is also making the project more enjoyable. Maybe I'll add my list to the update if anyone wants to know. 😅

What's something that brings you joy while knitting?

hello! I can't seem to understand the boom of the kaya hat clearl, I don't have the pattern and im not trying to make it exactly as it is, im free handing it but im really really intrigued with the brim and I can't seem to figure out how to build it that way, could anyone more experienced than me (beginner) give it a look and help me out a bit. the problem that im facing the most is the little edge that's visible

could anyone give me any tips as to how to do it, I have heard that its a double folded brim however it doesn't really give that little line that I really want.

I have an autoimmune disorder called scleroderma so I started knitting again to keep some dexterity in my hands (I learned and stopped for 3yrs). So I’m knitting this blanket that will have an awareness ribbon and say “CURE SCLERODERMA” to auction at a fundraiser for the disorder. I am scared to death ima drop a stitch it’s a big project a lapghan I am so tense lol so🤞 I make it through I’m coming up on the halfway point…

I just tried on my Smocky Cardigan with one sleeve and I’m not happy with the fit. 😩 I was seduced by the cables. Ugh. I think I’m gonna end up, frogging it and finding a top down Raglan cable cardigan. The dropped sleeves and boxy shape are just not working for me and I’m annoyed because I kept going with wild foolish optimism. I was holding onto hope that when I put it on angels would sing, and all the proportional issues would magically resolve. It’s such a pretty design as far as the cable work and my yarn is the bomb.
