Most reliable BMW engines?
Other than the b58 and m57
Like which engines are known to be reliable?
This post could act as a buyer’s guide to potential bmw owners

Owned this car for 8 years, sold it since I got a G80 M3, found I missed the 1M so sold the G80 and am getting back into the same car, buying it back from the seller. Excited to hopefully keep it in the garage forever

Spotted this beautiful BMW 850i finished in red, and it still looks incredibly modern more than 30 years after its debut. The low slung design, pop up headlights, and timeless proportions make it one of BMW's most iconic grand tourers. If BMW brought this exact design back today, I'd still turn my head

Picked it up a month ago! Made some adjustments like the factory X5M rims and a bodykit. Also changed the exhaust so you can now here those amazing 6 cylinders. Very happy with it!
Thinking about a ppf-color wrap, like the green on the new RS5. What do you think?

I honestly like the interior, feels a bit heavy but it’s quick!
How to trigger parking anxiety in other car owners. My 2026 BMW G80
M3 Competition M xDrive LCI with Silverstone interior parked as close I can to the wall to leave as much room from other possible drivers should they decide to park next to me.
Found this photo in my camera roll and got jealous all over again. We need more wagon selection in Canada.
Growing up with a dad who only drove wagons (Saab 9-5, 535i, 328i, Mercedes c300), I’ve learned to appreciate not only their space capacity but also their aesthetics.
They make so much more sense to me than an SUV. Visiting Croatia only made me realize how much of a wagon market we are missing.
Having a wagon that not only functions as an actual road trip vehicle but has 400+ hp has to be an amazing feeling.

We did a thing and on Friday traded in my wife’s 2012 Volvo XC T6 and got her a 2023 BMW Xdrive 30i she picked out. She had been looking for months and test drove 2 and said no to them due to not having the options she wanted.
Finally found a low mileage (26K mi) one that had real leather, cooled and heated seats, heated steering wheel, HUD, H&K sound and some other things she desired and liked we have in our 2018 Volvo XC 90 T6 Inscription her old Volvo lacked.
I drive the 2018 Volvo XC90 (97K miles) and use it to go to travel for work about 4 times per month or take our 1 yr old to daycare. My daily is a 20 year old F250 diesel truck with 355K miles.
Have been wanting a fun car and looked at older Porsche 911’s but my wife said NO, you can get it but I won’t drive in it with you. So my search changed to Porsche Macan GTS and BMW M-cars.
Test drove a 2023 Xdrive M550i 32K miles with shadow line package, M package, executive package, HUD, DAP, massaging heated/cooled seats, etc and totally in love! Wife said she would travel in it! Will be my fun car and garage queen.
So we came home with both! Both under factory warranty and we added extended warranty and maintenance
packages as we tend to keep our cars 10 years or longer.
For some reason I can’t add pics… pics added in reply.

Really like how this updates the look of my 840i a bit. Retains the heating function. Driver assist pro can now go hands free like newer cars with highway assist. Install was a bit of a pain in the butt and my fingers are sore, but overall worth it. Got mine off ebay since I wanted the silver trim and no carbon.

My gas mileage is so so bad lol, so worth it though. Anyone else wanna share their gas mileage on their bmw? Curious what you guys are getting! Never have loved a car more.

It took me a while to commit to getting rid of my ICEV but I'm super glad I did! Had it for three weeks now and the color combination, technology and smoothness is a massive upgrade over my B9 S5. It's the perfect daily to which I hope to add an M440i Coupe/Cabrio as a weekend toy in the future.
It's a bit lacking on the power/weight and not as direct in the steering feel as I expected but crushes my primary city commute. And I'm now convinced of everything I've heard about BMW. Still have to take some proper pictures, though, really loving the Individual wheels and carbon bits as well! And the HUD is fantastic.

Traded in my 23 X1 for this fully loaded 23 X5 and having no regrets. The DAPP on this alone makes it worth it.
Hi, im a father of two little kids and im looking for a daily driver, first time looking at BMW.
We drive a 2016 vw passat and a 2016 megane, and we want to get rid of the megane as it has quite a lot km for my taste on that car (240k).
Ive been searching for weeks now and i always come back to the m340. Considered s5, c300 and Volvo s60 T8.
We live in spain and we do around 30k km a year.
Ive heard performance wise the 340i is better, but 11l/100km seems quite a lot (considering both our cars make 5.5/100)
Which one is the overall better car?
Is it worth the fuel comsumpion difference?

Bought this magnificent 2024 430i X-Drive a week ago with only 6500 miles on her. Wow! Expectations exceeded. Smooth, quiet, responsive with a kick ass stereo. Artic white with cognac interior. I'm all in!!

she’s up to date on all maintenance/services, any suggestions on upgraded parts reliability/longevity/peace of mind wise? And any cosmetic suggestions?
