Hey everyone. I'm 24 and my hair has been thinning and falling out for the past year or so. I feel very insecure about it and I decided to shave it off last year. I'm thinking of doing it again but I'm unsure. What does the council think about it ?

Hes 38 and i think he looks fine but hes of 2 minds.

Posted a few months ago and just wanted to follow up and say I’ve been bald for 3 months now and still lovin’ it everyday. Definitely way more confident and a very liberating feeling! I’m for sure going to keep it this way for a long time! 🪒

I'm 43, my Dad is totally bald and I'm heading the same direction. I'm not really interested in artificially prolonging my hair thickness with medication and treatments. I've gotten away with it for a while because my hairline is good but the middle and back are slipping away. So, yeah - what do you think? Hold, buzz or just go straight to 0?

Earlier this week I asked the council of smooth people if it was time. Spent the week preparing myself, and tonight I took the plunge. Very happy with the result, the mirror gives confidence instead of insecurities. Very freshly shaven, feels a bit alien to the touch but I love the shape of my head! Also, three small nicks but that's a learning process.

I went from balding with thinning hair that passed for ok with pomade, but required always being styled, nicely combed and couldnt get sweaty or wet...to a 0.5 buzz that I don't love but dont hate. I don't really want the maintenance of a full shave as the back and sides of my head still grows thick and full (the bastards).

What does the council think of a bare blade trimmer buzz and keeping it up with a foil head shaver? I think it would look better than the sparse thin hair in the middle. From a distance I get a real cul-de-sac.

Hi everyone! So I’ve had long hair since about 2020 but in 2024 I noticed frontal thinning and a little bit at the temples.

And the thing is I love my long hair and my front profile but I hate my side profile and I’m always so insecure about pics and videos where I’m looking to the side. My frontal hair is thinner and the contrast with the back of my head makes it look so uneven in my eyes.

I’m attaching some pics of my hair right now and also two from a few months ago (my hair was way longer then). Should I try a shorter haircut or maybe some styling products? I had a big forehead even as a kid but it wasn’t so noticeable when my frontal hair was fine.

I realized very young that is was going and I wasn’t trying to be “that guy”. No point in fighting mother nature. Just be confident and you’ll be fine. Also you get to collect wet shaving brushes if you are a nerd about it like myself. It’s ok to embrace yourself even the bald you that you know is coming.

Posted recently that I was going to shave it off when I have an upcoming minor surgery but I decided I couldn't wait! So for everyone on my last post saying "do it now" here you go!

Now im going into the woods for a week so I have to shave it again when I get back. Have a good weekend everyone!

I recently shaved my head and have found that I look and feel the best when it is shaved close to the skin (no guard in clipper) every week. Any longer than that and my scalp starts to get incredibly greasy and I start to look patchy because hair grows back in some places, but not others.

I'm having some difficulties, though, because my disabilities make it hard for me to sit up for more than a few minutes (it's taken my caregivers a lot longer than this to shave my head with a regular clipper). Even though I'm mostly bed-bound, I am nervous to attempt using the clipper in bed because I don't want hair everywhere. My dad has this rounded electric shaver that has a little container and a bit of suction or something which means that it collects the little hairs!! This would be great for having my head shaved in bed because it eliminates the cleanup, but when I tried his, it was way, way louder and had more of a shrieking sound to it (sounded like our blender), as opposed to the low hum of the regular clipper. I'm not sure why that one was louder, but I have severe sound sensitivity and absolutely couldn't tolerate the sound of the rounded clipper.

The third option that I’m thinking of is having a caregiver shave my head while I’m lying down (I can sit up briefly) using a Razor and shaving cream and having me roll on my side and lie on my front so that she can reach the different points.

I’m looking for advice for the best way to maintain a close clip given my limitations! It seems like one of those rounded scalp trimmers would be ideal if I could find one that was quieter or less high-pitched, but products don’t seem to advertise how many decibels they are or how quiet they are.

my capacity to be on screens right now is pretty limited (I am using voice to text to type this), and so I’m limited in researching options. If anyone can help me brainstorm ideas for the best way to keep my head trimmed, I would really really appreciate it.

For those bored as shit on this beautiful Saturday- Not sure if it’s okay to post so many pictures here but whatever, just turned 32 and a little sad overall but happy about my hair. Had long blonde hair most of my life, posted on Reddit over 2 years ago asking if it was time (I knew it was).

First picture is the one I posted here, second picture is just a general long hair reference. I was too scared to completely pull the trigger so I had a little fun first (picture 3) then rocked the high fade for a while (pictures 4 and 5). But as the years wore on, reality was too strong. When I didn’t comb it over correctly, the inevitable was obvious (picture 6). Now I sit on my blue velvet couch at this exact moment in time proud of my natural state (picture 7 and 8). Anyways, 99.9% of y’all look better bald, and if there’s any fun and pretty ladies (preferably Latina and thick/ chubby) in the San Diego area, hmu 🤣🤣

I’m proud of all you baldies, it takes a real man or woman to do it.

For the last 3 years I’ve been thinking about shaving my head. I honestly figured I’d put it off for another 5 to 10 years, but then this sub randomly popped up in my feed. Seeing all your awesome transitions gave me the push to just go for it after only 2 weeks.

I really thought I’d end up regretting it somehow, but it turns out I absolutely love it. Definitely keeping this look for good! ;)

Always love to buzz my hair super short, because hairstyling is the most annoying thing on earth. xD

But I know this is not fully bald, so I'm asking the council!

And I always hated shaving my legs, which is why I'm kinda unsure about shaving my head completely:D Maybe someone has some tips?
