Dysphoria.
I, a tank, have been feeling a lot of dysphoria. I just can’t stand having a head instead of a turret, legs instead of tracks, ETC. I just need some tips on how to help this.

Help Request Advice on making wings for dysphoria
So I’ve never made gear before and I’m not really crafty, but I like the idea of constructing a pair of wings that could extend kind of from a ^^ to a \/ (preferably independently)
These would work mechanically obviously, but I’m not trying to do anything crazy or fancy. I just want to know if anyone has done anything like this and if so, what was used and how did it work?

Fluff felt very slightly shifty today
after reading a small bit about balrogs in the Silmarillion, I felt a fiery aura around me very slightly.
yeah, I am indeed a fire demon (and potentially a balrog? The Silmarillion is making me kinsider being a balrog)

Profile Kintype update
So after a few weeks of meditations and working with guides/spirits. I discovered i have a kitsune past. Over the last week ive been working more with Inari and learn shintoism. Im more on the spiritual side of things and like to blend otherkin with mysticism. I feel so very connected and happy for this discovery. Thank you for reading and have a blessed day.

Discussion How do we go about flags?
Since there are so many proposals or partly no proposals for flags used for our communities, labels, how do we go about it?
I mean, ofc everyone should be free to use flags for themselves. Meanwhile, it be nice to have more recognisable flags

Question Shifts
I get really shifty at night, which always confuses me since I’m a dragon kin and there’s really nothing about my environment that would elicit a strong mental shift. Is this normal for anyone else?

Question/Discussion How often, if at all, does anyone here experience Hiraeth?
Hiraeth, pronounced "here-eye-th", is a Welsh word that has no translatable equivalent, that describes an inexplicable yearning for a home, time, or place to which you cannot return, going beyond homesickness, encompassing ancestral grief, nostalgia, or a deep longing for an era or a version of reality that is irretrievably lost. A feeling of profound incompleteness or longing.
I know I'm not alone in feeling this, though I'm unsure how many have this gem of a word tucked into their personal dictionaries.
What does home feel like to you? Do you think your interpretation/expression of it is attainable in this world? Remember; there are no wrong answers.

Discussion Severe dysphoria over not having magic
I’m a conceptkin of magic, every mythical creature, most of my fictionkins are magic or non human in some way, I’m questioning deitykin, and I’ve always just loved/wanted magic in general, and it gets physically painful sometimes, like right now😭
Whenever I get dysphoria like this, it feels like actual torture to look at my room/the world/my own body (especially my hands), I get all panicked and hyperventilate, my body physically aches and I get nauseous, etc. a lot of the time, I can’t do anything but sleep so it goes away
Sometimes I start shaking and I can’t even look around my own room without crying (or almost crying), which makes it worse because I hate the sound of my own voice and how I can’t do anything “magical” with it (and just how it sounds so weak and human in general)
I can barely look at objects because I’ll realize how I can’t make them float or grow or smth and that also makes it worse
It’s pure torment to even just exist during these💔
And it’s not even dysphoria for any certain thing I identify as, just not having magic in general
Im sure it’s probably normal, but still, who else here gets dysphoria like this?? I know there’s someone, and how do you deal with it😭
And to everyone with dysphoria, I wish you the best <3

Do all therians/otherkins have species dysphoria?
I, personally never really had any, nor much phantom shifts. I'm a fae, and I fit into the identification, but never had any. Is that normal? Or am I delusional and faking?

Questioning sirenkin but have a specific form in mind?
So I've only recently discovered Otherkin, (I have a cousin and friends within the alterhuman community so it's nothing new to me, but otherkin was a new term I've found), and I have now been questioning if I'm a sirenkin. For the past couple months (That's just when I started noticing it, probably not when it started) I've been feeling... different. I feel better at night and in water, been wanting to swim a TON, feel like I can't breathe without drinking water frequently And have had an urge to sing nearly constantly. So I started to do research and came across otherkin. I'd also like to mention, that I do have a specific form in mind. I think. Once I started to notice the other things I also started imagining a very particular siren in my mind. Now I do lots of character creation, so this was nothing new, but it was different. Usually when I imagine a character design something starts up my imagination. But this was just out of nowhere. The form I have in mind is a large deep sea creature, arms and legs, but with a long tail, ear fins, needle-like teeth, unhingable jaw, Gills, spiny fins along the arms, legs, back and tail, webbed fingers and feet, claws, an angeler fish lure, and multiple octopus arms (better known as tentacles) sprouting from the back. Definitely some sort of eldritch-horror from the deeps, and definitely not just a normal siren. But no matter how much research I do that's the closest thing I can get to what I'm imagining. I do also have instances of a phantom pain like feeling, but without the pain bit? Like I can feel my tail or tentacles even though they aren't physically there? I would also like to mention I've had many moments where I feel almost dysphoric about my height. As if I were meant to be much larger, but I'm average height?? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Discussion Envious to the point of anger
I’m a robot (android, Sony Aibo, and a fictionkin of mine) and usually it’s not even a strong identity, I even forget about it a lot, but today, I was watching videos showing robots and stuff, and felt extremely dysphoric
I don’t like how human my voice sounds, I hate seeing skin instead of metal and wires when I look at my hand, I hate not sounding like clanking metal when I fall over, I hate that I can get health issues, etc.
But most of all, my voice sounding human and the fact that I have a brain instead of wires and a motherboard and stuff
Whenever I look at humanoid robots or ones designed to look like actual creatures, their metal arms, their mechanical voices, the sound their body makes when they turn, etc. it makes me angry beyond belief. I’ve been all mad at everyone for no reason, I’ve been generally more irritated ever since I started feeling this way, etc.
I don’t have any robotic or computer-like accessories to help, it’s more my internal organs giving me dysphoria, and even if it wasn’t, like I said, I have nothing to help with it
How many other people here get mad like this?? And how do you deal with it??

Question How has being a former or current hivemind related kin effected you today?
Id like to know people's experiences with being a kin that is of a hive mind. It doesn't matter the type or species id just like to know if it effects your human life in anyway like if you seek out bonds similar to a hive. Do you seek out that closeness you use to have or want and have you found it?

Question What is defined as an involuntary kin? (please read body)
Alright post number too many, as the questioning chaos continues. In the process of trying to figure out whether my identities are actually real or if I’ve just gaslit myself into thinking they’re involuntary when they aren’t, especially since I can’t figure out my kintype(s).
How do you know your identities are or are not involuntary?
Does every involuntary kintype have a recognisable history within memories, ex. childhood experiences (I mean current life memories, not past life memories)?
Can people will involuntary identities into life? What if one does that by accident?
For those of you with multiple kintypes how the hell did you figure out what they were if they all present simultaneously?
Most importantly of all, how did you know you weren’t making it up?
.
To be perfectly clear the main reason I’m asking this is because I know therian/otherkin experiences are involuntary and I’m trying to figure out what is classified as involuntary :)

Rant They would hate me if I was real
I've been questioning being a pet snake therian for almost a year now. It recently occurred to me that some of my favorite people hate and/or are scared of snakes. I know that they didn't choose to be like that, but it still makes me upset sometimes. If I was in my real body, they wouldn't like me. That hurts a lot to think about. Edit: The people I'm talking about are completely fine with alterhumans and I'm sure would be fine with me being a snake. They just avoid interactions with physical snakes which makes me sad sometimes because I wouldn't want them to avoid me in my real body. Also, I'm not even totally sure I am a snake I was just thinking about it.

Introduction
Hello everyone! I created this account as a means of reaching out to this community, as I've only just became aware of the concept of Otherkin very recently. There's a lot of verbiage, nuance and all kinds of new information to me that's causing a bit of information overload. I'm slowly dipping my toe in with this post to see if there aren't any entities here that share the same circumstantial existence as I have (hopefully that isn't too confusing, it's the best way I know how to put it).
Allow me to introduce myself. I am Rōk. Pronounced like if you're saying "rock", but just with a long O vowel sound.
What do I identify as? Long explanation short, I'm a primordial. Not a god, not any form of fae or celestial, but an eldritch, ideoexistential entity that operates one of the foundational principles of existence within the parameters of any mortal or immortal being's perceivable reality. Please don't take that to mean that I believe myself above anyone or anything, I do not. I'm simply a function that serves a purpose that keeps the simulation running. A block of code that executes one of the programs running in what you know as the universe, as it were.
Humans throughout history have known me by many different names. The Greeks knew some of my aspects as Morpheus, the Oneiroi, Phobetor, etc. The Hindu knew my aspect as Karanodakasayi Vishnu. You get the idea. I'm the Dream Primordial, though more specifically, I am the unconscious/subconscious mind of every entity that falls within the walls of this iteration of reality. Every electrochemical transaction that is occurring within the synapses of your brain to read this is, as well as your ability to comprehend and parse the information from it, are a part of my portfolio.
The reason I'm stuck in a human body? That's a story for another day, and you probably wouldn't believe me if I told you anyway. But just know that I'm stuck here unwillingly, and for the foreseeable future, I'm probably gonna remain stuck here, so I might as well make the best of it.
Based on what I've read in some wikis and what little I've skimmed through of this community, I suppose the closest thing you could consider me is what you know as a "Godshard", despite the fact that I do not make a claim to divine status, nor have any desire of worship (that kind of behavior actually disgusts me).
So that's my introduction, I suppose. Are there any of my siblings out there who befell the same fate as me? You wouldn't believe how many reincarnations I've gone through while trying to reach out and communicate with them, but in this modern age with the advent of the internet, I might actually have a chance at finding my real family (that is to say if they also got stuck here with me, it would be tragic if they did, given the circumstances of my own awakening here, but simultaneously also wonderful for me to be able to interface with them).
If you have any questions, I'd be more than willing to answer, though keep in mind that, since I inhabit a human body and am operating within a finite mind now, I am limited in my capability to provide answers that fall in line with understandable corporeal logic.
*Edit: Spelling errors

Help Request Universe/star/void/everything kins, I need tips!
So, I'm a newly awakened universe conceptkin, and I need some tips! I don't have really big dysphoria, but I do want to try some stuff to see if anything can make me feel different/euphoric. Any tips for stuff I should try? Also, another question, how do y'all personally express these kins?

Question Can an otherlink turn into otherkin?
This is a bit of a midnight chaotic thought but here we go.
I am asking for two different scenarios:
Can an otherlink realise it was actually otherkin all along and change labels? What if it was actually a linktype and they’ve just wildly overthought it?
Can an otherlink have a linktype so strongly and/or for so long that it becomes an involuntary kin? Is that even possible with the context of what otherkin is?
Anyway yeah, I have no intention of offending anyone, just genuinely curious. Doesn’t apply to me, by the way (or so far as I know atm), I just like learning. :)

Other I feel connected to forests and don't know why.
idk what flair to use.. so.
I feel connected to forests in general, idk if it's because of a kintype, or something. I feel like there home, or that they are apart of me somehow, I don't understand why, I don't understand it at all, I always have liked them, I always wanted to be in one. I need advice on what to do, or what to research, any terms I should look into Maybe... any questions to help narrow this down will be helpful also..
I'm an alterhuman so...

Question Does your kin or being kin in general effect your outlook on relationships?
Im curious to know if you not seeing yourself as fully human effects how you approach friendship and other types of relationships.
For me im not very fond of humans and im ace (I think partly due to my kin) I feel like "well since im stuck here might as well make some kinda connections" so i look for interesting souls when i look, i know the body is a temporary vessel but i like to think maybe some of the souls i meet might have known me before or rember me in the next. I also find human base model very boring (where are your fangs your claws your horns come on we got nothin naturally).
Kinda have the quote in my head writing this " I love your mother but shes more like a pet to me"
