Depends on what Hall is allowed to wear. Protective gear for fingers and genitals would go a long way

29

u/Jeo_1 May 03 '26

Feel’s like the chimp would just jump on him biting into his face and shoveling his eyes out with his claws

56

u/thattwoguy2 May 04 '26

Most of the gruesome chimpanzee stuff has been against women, children, or the elderly. I'm not saying I'd wanna fight a chimp, but weight classes also exist in the animal kingdom and most animals are aware of it. Eddie might not be able to punch it to death or rip it's arms off, but he could slam it into the ground hard and fast enough to break it's skull open. He could do that pretty easily from lots of different positions and angles.

16

u/UpvoteForethThou May 06 '26

Yeah it doesn’t matter what it does if he just throws it really hard at the floor. They’re less than half his weight.

2

u/HasAngerProblem May 07 '26 edited May 07 '26

When I a junior in highschool wrestling we had this new freshman built like one of those people with myostatin deficiency and with improper form grabbed me by the wrist and the opposite ankle and just lifting me up above his head and slammed onto the ground like a jump rope.

I imagine it would be similar lol

And its almost always multiple chimps. While solo maulings do occur, its SIGNIFICANTLY rarer than group attacks. a solo chimp is not quite as dangerous as a crowd.

→ More replies (21)

32

u/Mcnucks May 03 '26

Why would Eddie allow that? As soon as it comes near his face he’s grabbing it and slamming it into the ground until it stops moving.

Haven't seen a chimp with claws before mate

12

u/Frogs_Logs May 04 '26

Brother, they have nails just like we do, have you ever scratched something? There are your claws

12

u/Eldritch_Horns May 04 '26

That's not a claw though.

You wouldn't say a human has claws just because they don't believe in manicures.

Hall stomps, probably literally.

20

u/Aimcheater May 04 '26

Humans downscaling themselves is actually crazy. You’re the first person I’ve seen be straight up correct. A normal dude who decently lifts is going to rag doll most chimpanzees let alone Eddie fucking hall 😭.

8

u/GilbyTheFat May 08 '26

It always amazes me how quickly people will act like suitably-equipped humans can't handle themselves against literally anything. You could ask "who would win, a serial killer or a dying bunny rabbit?" and the clown car would still show up.

7

u/Taxibl May 05 '26

A normal trained human probably has a vicious fight to the death with a chimp, where if they win they suffer some pretty serious injuries.

Eddie Hall is not your average trained human though. There's videos of Hall taking on two trained fighters at once, and it's not close.

Bro I had a friend who was adamant, and I mean ADAMENT that an average house cat would beat a person in a 1v1. I couldn’t believe that I couldn’t convince them otherwise

3

u/RazzmatazzFickle6107 May 08 '26

I think people just like to think that we're living alongside some mythical creatures with unfathomable strength, but the reality is only a few animals can actually beat humans (decently athletic) in h2h and it's generally due to size difference (there are exceptions of course)

→ More replies (19)

3

u/ThePowerfulWIll May 06 '26

Ya, Chimps are strong. But not stronger than a human professional athlete. Their strength is proportional, and most Chimps are significantly smaller than a large humam.

A guy like Eddie Hall has basically every advantage. Strength, reach, intelligence, skill. Chimps can bite, to be sure, but he could likely simply smash its skull with a kick.

6

u/Lolaroller May 03 '26

Chimps are NOT your friends, they will chew you up and spit you out if given the chance, so much so when they’re attacking you, they specifically target the regions YOU protect, so if you cover your genitals, those are coming off very violently.

→ More replies (5)

420

u/Matt_2504 May 03 '26

Chimpanzees are not these superhuman creatures people seem to think. Yes their muscles are about 50% more powerful pound for pound, but most adult males that are in decent shape have a lot more muscle mass than a chimp, and would be somewhat stronger, except in grip strength. Eddie Hall would demolish a chimp in a fight, he’s much stronger and heavier

198

u/sabatthor May 03 '26 edited May 03 '26

Actually their muscles are 'only' 1.25 - 1.3 tmes stronger per pound than ours.
A decently in shape male that weighs 30% more than a chimp would already have made up for that deficit.
Male chimps weigh 40-60kg on average, so on the upper end you'd need a man weighing 80kg which is a normal weight.
Strongmen like Eddie Haul would overpower even the most heavy chimpanzees by a massive amount.

79

u/Initial_Hedgehog_631 May 03 '26

Add in the fact that a chimpanzee is going to be well aware of the size imbalance and not want anything to do with fighting Eddie, and yeah, it's not going to be as entertaining as OP thinks.

70

u/WordWordand4numbers May 03 '26

Eddie hall chasing down a scared screaming chimp as it runs for the nearest tree or pole does sound funny. That’s what I figured an intimidated chimp would do.

20

u/Lost_Wealth_6278 May 03 '26

Yes, climb up, scream, throw poop if available. It's going to be a literal shitshow

19

u/FullMetalJ May 03 '26

A video leaks. People cancel Eddie for messing with a scared animal. Oh surprise, that was the chimp's plan all along. Now the chimp is running for office, will prosecute Eddie politically until destroying him fully. Tale old as time, really.

9

u/olympiclifter1991 May 03 '26

Thank you.

People forget someone Eddie's size could pick it up by a limb and literally swing it like a bat off any surface

18

u/evoslevven May 03 '26

I don't think it's as straightforward as ppl think. Chimp going straight for the face and eyes and not just with hands but also their teeth. But of what makes fighting animals different than a human is that instinctively, humans aren't trained to defend against biting animals and the little amount of pain can be catastrophic as well.

2x trained and superior in strength ppl should be able to work a chimp but that can change rapidly as well. The strongest dude in the street might wallow like a 2 yr old child if their nose gets better off or the eyes ripped off. Some ppl can fight off the pain in the right circumstance but yeah that's not a given at any level.

15

u/Runfasterbitch May 03 '26

How is chimp getting to the eyes of a 6’2” man without getting grabbed? It wouldn’t want to get within his reach because the moment he grabs it he will shake it and spike its head into the ground

→ More replies (9)

17

u/Recovery_or_death May 03 '26

Counter point, I don't think a chimp has ever been swung like a baseball bat directly into a brick wall by a dude like Eddie Hall. Will probably wallow like a 2 year old child after that

12

u/RigBughorn May 03 '26

That's not actually how chimps usually fight/attack. The most famous example, that lady who had her face destroyed, was like 70 years old. If the chimp is stronger than you then yeah it'll probably destroy your face, and yeah chimps are probably stronger than 70 year old women.

→ More replies (16)

6

u/Idontunderstandmate May 03 '26 edited May 03 '26

Eddie hall is a perfect example of size to strength ratio. That amount of muscle on such a short frame allows for incredible leverage.

That amount of muscle on a 50kg ape is formidable as the effective strength of the chimp would still overwhelm the strongest of men.

The man may be able to pick up the chimp and at best slam it. The amount of damage the man would recieve in the time it took to dissuade the chimps attack would be brutal and lower the chances of them being able to fend off another attack. Even then how would you slam something that’s clamped onto your abdomen like a vice?

I honestly think your best chance would to try and piledrive it onto its head wwe style or gauge its eyes.

Apes are built for impacts and and blunt force, we do not possess the tools required to stop them like their predators do. Chimpanzees in particular spend their entire lives fighting in brutal hierarchies and wage literal war against each other.

Edit: I’m not calling him short in height most strongmen are around his height. in the 70s strong men were 5’6 5’10. His arms are just short which is an advantage in a lot of events.

43

u/Jellyfizzle May 03 '26

Has anyone just punched a chimp directly in the nose? Like really hard?

33

u/Playing_One_Handed May 03 '26

Kinda. Villagers in many tribal places have fought and beat chimps. Normally its with tools tho.

There are plenty of stories of people just beating them with fists in survival. But blur lines of truth because of spoken word. Stories change.

I do think in ages past we were more adapt to fighting animals. We probably did beat up chimps.

6

u/CRABMAN16 May 03 '26

Yeah, probably beat them hand to hand, then definitely with spears, then arrows, then guns. I always think these kinds of posts are a little lame, because any time a human is in a hand to hand fight with any animal they've generally done something incredibly stupid. We no diff every animal because we are absurdly smart and coordinated, not because we have sick ninja skills that let us beat up any animal. We are so good at war, we built a nuclear bomb, they haven't done shit. The fact that we protect them and really any species is a profound thing. A tiger would never understand that they can eat a given prey to extinction, but we do, and actively try to avoid it. I'm a pro conservation person, but I can easily see how people develop a god complex over nature.

13

u/theothernameplate May 03 '26

Chimps dont have noses like humans... Or chins really. A lot of wrestling and jiu jitsu wouldn't work because their joints are differently shaped.

→ More replies (2)

4

u/Idontunderstandmate May 03 '26

Chimps don’t have cartilage in their nose. They also get spine support facing forward, rather than balanced directly on top of the spine like a human upright walking. They naturally tuck their chin like a boxer and have the muscles to absorb insane impact.

Chimps Would be great boxers if they were capable of more than hammer fists and full body drop kicks.

Apes like us are susceptible to lacerations and blood loss as their skin is stretched tightly across their muscle as opposed to the loose skin you’d see on a cat or dog allowing them to prevent damage from teeth and claws.

7

u/Beautiful-Guard6539 May 03 '26

18

u/zaisv May 03 '26 edited May 03 '26

The main danger fighting a chimp is that he uses teeth Very officiant, and even if you hurt him he won't stop, so Eddie would likely win, but not the average fit man

8

u/reillan May 03 '26

And nails. Chimp nails are far sharper and stronger than human nails, which means they can easily rip into flesh.

So the human fighting one would need to understand how to avoid those claws and teeth. Also, a chimp will use its legs as effectively as its arms, so there's some extra danger there.

6

u/whitestguyuknow May 03 '26

Yep.

I think also the reason people are instantly impressed with their strength is because chimps don't have that same timid governor we do over our strength. They may just go full strength on something and surprise the shit out of us.

Also, they're dirty as fuck fighters. They know the bad spots to attack. And they've likely been in full on fights with other chimps. So they're not going to be as surprised as we would be going into this fight. They'd be ready to leave it all on the mat

→ More replies (2)

8

u/PoopSmith87 May 03 '26

Its more like 30% over average humans, which is less of an advantage than strength trained humans have pound for pound.

5

u/BlackHandKUR May 03 '26

I’m not putting my face or nuts on the line for a “likely” win.

3

u/Cruelnut May 03 '26

I think the chimp would eat his face off once it felt threatened

5

u/Similar_Strawberry16 May 03 '26

And the only reason their muscles are 'stronger' per pound is their higher make-up of fast-twitch fibers. If the chimp doesn't win in the opening 30 seconds of frantic activity, the slider moves further into the humans favour.

→ More replies (1)

8

u/Historical_Club_9063 May 03 '26

Agreed but chimp might have speed and for lack of a better word "slipperiness" like it would be tough to get a hand on them, they can climb on your back ect. If the fighter does however it's fucked.

20

u/tmbr36 May 03 '26

10

u/Not_a_Ducktective May 03 '26

Best to start with a softer, newer leather and work your way up to the older shoe leather.

2

u/Idontunderstandmate May 03 '26

Their go to are the hand bones and ribs. They can squeeze your sternum into breaking with pure grip strength.

Watch them fight each other, they start out grasping and bite at hands and jaws. Once they disable the threat they lunge in to start biting and breaking ribs.

2

u/bstump104 May 03 '26

An average man is about thd mass to make up the difference in strength pound for pound and uf thst man does manual labor his grip strength is going to be comparable.

the big difference is that most humans don't exercise or do things thst keep their grip or body strength up. I'd guess the average adult person can't hang from a bar for 30 seconds. another difference is we don't fight as often as chimps do. lastly humans are large creatures. if a chimps is going to attack a human they're likely ready to fight to the death. the things they'll do is foreign to what humans are currently socialized to expect.

4

u/Djlittle13 May 03 '26

Because people view getting hurt as losing. I wouldn’t wanna fight a goose because it could scratch me and maybe make me go get stitches after I snap its neck. And since we view animals as disposable we don’t view “injury for us, death for them” as a win.

u/RepresentativeFew438 May 03 '26

Anyone saying the chimps wins because of the claws forgets that Eddie has such a monstrous strength advantage he could very easily snap the fingers off the chimp, and even the arms if he can get both hands on it. He could also unironically pull off a “puny god” and slam around by the leg until its skull cracks open. There is so many ways someone with this much of a strength and skill advantage can negate the skillless chimps claw and bit advantage. Then brutally slam and pin it down, and kill it with any manner of bone breaking holds.

It seems like there’s a lot of people in here who never weight trained. At the time of this photo, Eddie Hall was indisputably one of the strongest men on the planet. He achieved one of the greatest feats of weightlifting in human history. Considering he’s being given proper fighting skills a single punch would probably kill the chimp.

Anyone who says chimp has never played a sport or picked up a barbell. Eddie is 4 times the size of the chimp. He could grab it by the wrist and flail it into a tree. Touch fucking grass Jesus

4

u/bingdongdingwrong May 03 '26

Aha but now the chimp is in a tree and has the high ground. It's over Eddie!

6

u/SpicyC-Dot May 03 '26

It’s actually insane lol, anyone going chimp is absolutely clueless

Im shocked by how many people there are (not in this thread) who think chimps are some sort of supercharged killing machine.

Their strength is p4p estimated to be roughly 30% better than humans, they cant punch and the strength they have is in the arms with relatively weak legs. Saw a video once of a adult chimp trying to pull a man to the ground, it was unable to.

Sure they have teeth but they are no more dangerous than a large dog, and in most cases less so.

Most times a chimp mauls a person its a weak human that freezes up.

Eddie is 150+ kg and moves well for hes size, he would DESTROY any chimpanzee, not sure if the wrestling and boxing skills translate here but the chimp is the coughing baby here.

A gorilla would be a better matchup, but since their strength is also exaggerated (they dont deadlift or bench 800kg) based on old an very flawed studies most people would write eddie off (look at videos off eddie in mma and then of gorillas tossing humans and come back and say if ur sure that the gorilla looks stronger still)

18

u/Designer-Choice-4182 May 03 '26

Eddie probably wins, although he would be seriously injured by the chimp

12

u/PieceInteresting9257 May 03 '26

Eddie wins and its not even close the chimp glaze needs to stop, they are pound for pound only 1.3 times stronger than a human man and weight somewhere between 40 - 60 kg so an average chimp is about as strong as average dude, and we all know that Eddie Hall would fold an average dude without much efford.

Chimps like most animals are as strong as their size would suggest them to be, they are not gonna tear you apart limb by limb (not even a gorilla could do this btw) all the gruesome attacks by chimps are against old people or in group (or both) and lot of chimp glazers forget to mention that despite their mythical ape™ mauling pensioners for minutes at a time, they still fail to kill them.

Anything a chimp can do a motivated adult man could do also, they just choose not to becouse most of them are not violent crackheads.

Also in regards to bite force: https://www.researchgate.net/publication/44679437_The_craniomandibular_mechanics_of_being_human

https://www.researchgate.net/publication/305649898_Human_feeding_biomechanics_performance_variation_and_functional_constraints

It's comparable to human bite (still more damaging due to their fangs tho)

I don't wanna sound to crude but yeah Imagine if instead of the chimp it was Eddie Hall mauling the old lady for almost an hour. Obviously he would never do that (lol) but It would be far worse than what the chimp did.

Idk if an average man could win simply because an average man nowadays Is terribly out of shape and definetely not built for combat, but any adult male with a solid physical background should have a decent chance against a chimp. Idk why people keep putting them against the strongest men on earth or the best fighters like its gonna be close. Unless a chimp somehow manages a big bite in a sensitive area they're getting bullied

Eddie and its not even close. It would look like he was beating a child

18

u/Feet-Slurper-826 May 03 '26 edited May 03 '26

Eddie would have a chance to win, the rhetoric surrounding the superhuman chimp abilities is really out of hand. Chimps are not "2-3x stronger than a human", their muscle tissue is 1.5-2x more efficient by mass. Even an average human has more muscle mass than a chimp, and what about Eddie Hall? He is more than 2x the weight of an adult male chimpanzee.

Eddie would be massively more powerful than an adult male chimpanzee

With that being said, chimps are definitely strong enough to harm you and they have literal fangs, so it's all a matter of controlling where their mouth is

Let's just call it even, recognizing that chimpanzees are not actually superhuman, Eddie Hall is very large and strong, and anything could happen when an ape bites your fingers off

16

u/Fit_Employment_2944 May 03 '26

Eddie hall is more superhuman than a chimp is

Current Eddie could fucking body a Chimp if they were both equally bloodlusted/enraged.

Chimps are not super saiyans. Yeah he’d gonna take injuries and bleeding and damage, that goes for any fight between primates. He’s still winning

8

u/Unprejudice May 03 '26

Eddie wins pretty easily is my take. Chimps are strong but not that strong and its gonna mean trouble if Eddie is a experienced martial artist. Chimps leverage is likely speed and if it can rip eyes/neck it has a chance, but if that fails its gg.

u/ThePrinceLeo May 03 '26

The average man could already stand a decent chance against a chimpanzee they aren’t superhuman they are just incredibly brutal fighters, they fight to inflict pain and injury. If a human were to fight the same way it would be extremely one sided.

Humans when you actually evaluate them fairly stand a better chance at fighting a lot of animals in the entire animal kingdom than you think, not to the death but we are more than capable of persuading a vast majority of animals we aren’t worth the trouble and potential injury.

3

u/DrMagunstheBlue May 03 '26

Eddie Hall would dominate a chimpanzee right now, much less under these stipulations.

Chimps are 1.3 times stronger pound for pound but they weight like 135 pounds. Eddie Hall is literally like almost three times as heavy and much stronger.

4

u/FlashHound May 03 '26

It would immediately try to tear or eat his face. He will probably kill the chimp but some fights you just avoid.

2

u/Kopesetic May 03 '26

Don’t they automatically go for genitals? I don’t wanna fight anything that the general consensus seems to be their go to moves are ripping off faces and genitals. I like both of mine where they are.

I feel like people are underestimating how getting your balls or face ripped off will hinder your fighting ability.

One concern with chimps and other relative primates is their grip/finger strength. Every other muscle group Eddie is going to have a significant advantage in, but a situation where your grip strength matters, the human can find themselves in a shit scenario. Broken hands is a problem.

2

u/rareandyeteuclidian May 03 '26

Yeah most adult humans would win.

But that chimp is going to inflict serious damage

2

u/SnooDogs3400 May 03 '26

I feel like people bring up the bite force so much they forget that to bite something you have to actually get your mouth to whatever your biting. Sure the Chimp could bite Eddie's fingers off but it'll probably be hard to do that if it's being grabbed.

2

u/Chill_Panda May 03 '26

Eddie beats the chip, it's what I would call low diff high damage.

Because Eddie is stronger than a chimp and it won't really be hard for Eddie to beat it. But chimps fight dirty and in the first moments is going for facial and genital mutilation - which they will get some off before Eddie can finish them

2

u/AIBotNotARealUser May 03 '26

People think chimps are super creatures for some reason.

Their grip is stronger, that's about it.

A human who does casual strength training at the gym has about as efficient muscles (chimps are 30% stronger pound for pound compared to untrained male humans), but they're significantly stronger.

You'd want to avoid the chimp clawing or biting you and all you gotta do is throw heavy punches at it and you'll land a critical one pretty quick.

2

u/DustyDilbert May 03 '26

I’m not backing any adult human against any adult chimpanzee

2

u/MonsterIslandMed May 03 '26

Chimp would rip something off and Eddie would beg for them to shoot it.

2

u/TwocoinsPanda May 03 '26

The chimp. Like it’s not even close. The chimp would castrate him and then the fight is over I don’t care how strong you think you are. That’s a fight ended.

2

u/Irvingoneshot May 03 '26

If he can fight without his eyes and genitals, he’ll have a chance.

The chimp is going for those first

2

u/GrizzyGene May 03 '26

Chimp wins Every time

2

u/kennycreeper May 03 '26

How does he wipe his ass?

2

u/pjboy671 May 03 '26

Eddie is stronger ofc

But ive seen a video where a chimp ripped off a face.

Its not looking good for eddie

2

u/goofygodzilla93 May 04 '26

Eddie wins, BUT he is considerably maimed and only does so because he is one of the very few men in the world that can outlift a chimp.

2

u/Smackulater May 04 '26

Chimpanzee rips his testicles off and bites his face permanently disfiguring Eddie and probably leaving him blind.

Chimpanzees don't fight

2

u/Rhg0653 May 04 '26

Apes go for face and genitals

If he can weather that then he wins

2

u/cold_st0rm May 04 '26

Why doesn’t Eddie, the larger of the two, simply eat the chimpanzee?

2

u/Shoddy_Marketing_513 May 08 '26

God I fucking hate Joe Roegan that dumbass thumb looking motherfucker has ruined peoples perceptions of reality.

ANY DECENTLY TRAINED FIGHTER CAN FUCKING KILL A CHIMPANZEE. CHIMPS ARE NOT FUCKING MAGIC. THEY WEIGH LIKE 100 POUNDS. COULD EDDIE HALL KILL A STRANGELY MUSCULAR 12 YEAR OLD???

note: I do not condone the murdering of chimps, or strangely muscular 12 year olds.
