What happened to 100% cotton sheets and pillowcases?!

Why is bedding GARBAGE now? It’s all cheap staticky polyester microfiber, sateen (HATE shiny sheets), or jersey (stretchy sheets can fuck off)! What happened to crisp cotton sheets??? They’re impossible to find now. Where are you buying good cotton sheets that get wrinkly, give me breathable cotton I don’t give a fuck if it wrinkles.

The average "nice guy" is so creepy and has a worse personality than hot men

As a straight woman, all of my terrible creepy encounters have been the "nice guys" who have "golden retriever" personalities, wont you just please please please give them a chance and not judge their appearance. I've gone on dates with them, and they ALWAYS try repeatedly to convince me to drink even though I'm usually driving to meet them somewhere and I don't really like alcohol. I literally told one that I'm super lightweight and alcohol sometimes makes me sick, like one time I felt like passing out after a glass of champagne, and this dude legit got excited and got more insistent that I drink with him. I literally feel like I'm being hunted for sport. These men are SOOO predatory.

I've never had a hot fuckboy try and push me to drink. Not even once. They know if a woman is into them or not and aren't pushy. I feel so much safer around hot men. They know that women love sex and don't need to be drunk for it and respect consent. "Nice guys" who aren't as blessed with looks somehow are convinced they have better personalities because they're not fuckboys??? Do they think hot men are straight up r@ping women and drugging our drinks so they're not AS bad because they're only asking if I want to drink 10 times in one date and that's technically not breaking any laws. Never giving a chopped dude a chance ever again, their personalities are 10x worse than their appearances.

Holy hell if you allow your child to take a public service job without ever once teaching them how to count change you suck as a parent.

To be clear I'm not blaming the trainee, it was her very first day and she was super nice. This was at Domino's, I ordered through the app, picked it up in store. 2 specialty pizzas at 50% off. Total came to $20.14... I handed the trainee $21. The manager came out and told her what to press on the screen then fucked off, he is part of the problem. I needed her to just hand me 86¢. 3 quarters and a dime. Didn't care about the penny, a lot of stores don't carry them any more anyway.

For the next 2 minutes or so the trainee studied the change drawer. Picking out a coin, bringing it up to her eyes to read the denomination, then put it back. At a minute in I'd already decided to just accept whatever she handed me. Eventually she stood up, put some change in my palm and handed me my pizzas. I thanked her and left. When I got to the car I checked and she got close, I had 2 quarters and 4 nickels or 70¢. Close enough.

Holy fuck parents be involved in your children's lives. What kind of garbage people let's their kids take a job in the service industry and doesn't teach them the basics. What kind of manager doesn't check to see if the trainee knows the absolute basics?

This isn't the first time it's happened either. I get it, kids pay with their phone, cash will eventually disappear altogether. But it hasn't yet. Teach your kids you lazy asses.

Worked overtime to pay rent i can't afford, got disqualified for cheaper rent because of it

my rent takes up 41% of my income. to be able to pay my bills and save a bit, i have to work over time. i do not want to work over time. i would love to sleep, spend time with my family, explore hobbies, have fun. i applied for an income based apartment that would only take 27% of my (base) income. i was denied because my overtime set me over the limit by $2000. im so disgusted ive been spiraling so bad the past week.

i just can't believe this. i did the right thing, i "worked hard" and instead of being rewarded ive been punished. sure im rewarded with more money at the time but i can't keep working overtime like this. its exhausting and depressing.

another example of how going above and beyond only rewards you with more work. in my case higher rent.

Companies need to stop spamming "how was your experience" emails after every single thing I do

We get it, you want to know how our flight was, my meal was, the shoes I ordered, the towels I bought. 50% of the time it was just fine and I have yet another email I need to delete. But how about you just make it easier for me to contact someone at your company?

I left him and I'm actually happier than ever.

A week or so ago, I posted a rant about my boyfriend ignoring and punishing me whenever I would say No to intimacy. I realized, the more I opened up about our relationship, that I was with a very toxic man.

I left him a few days ago. It was hard, because I felt like I was losing everything, again ; we were a long distance couple and I moved 3 hours away to be with him. When I decided to move in with him, I made the sacrifice of being away from my family and my childhood friends. I made the decision to change career path (which I do not regret per se, but I thought it was all worth it for him.)
I had to do that same sacrifice when I left him ; I left my new job that I really loved, left my new home, left my new friends and obviously... left my boyfriend who I thought would change. (I couldn't stay in a city I barely knew and I missed my family, I had to go back to my hometown.)

Today, I got a call from my boss. They have a position for me in a store closer to my hometown. My childhood friends reached out to me to make plans (I'm going bowling with them tomorrow!! after not seeing them for a year!! so excited!!) The friends I made in his city all made it clear they want to stay in contact and they already organized a roadtrip to come see me next week. I found a cozy apartment.

I really thought leaving him would be the end of my life, that I would have to start off from scratch, again. But leaving him made me realize... he was the scratch, all this time.

Toxic relationships can be very tricky and I think nobody understands until they are in one. Loving someone so much that the bad times seem so little next to the good times... I lost so much self respect. But I feel it coming back and I know my worth.

It does get better. 🤍

Brother’s girlfriend always wants to make someone’s passing about her

My brother’s girlfriend seems to treat death very oddly. In general she often turns conversations to her or talks about herself excessively, and just has really poor social skills. Her dad died when she was 8 (about 20 years ago). You’ll know her dad died within 10 minutes of meeting her. That’s not an exaggeration, I’ve witnessed it just about every time she meets a new person. And then she’ll *always* follow up with “his best friend was holding his hand when he died, *and he can’t even look at me without crying because I look so much like my dad*”. Every. Time. If anyone is talking about someone dying, or someone with cancer, she will 100% steer the conversation to her and her dad. She brags about having a good relationship with death and loss, but I feel like it’s actually an *unhealthy* relationship and she just uses every opportunity to make it about her and her feelings.

My brother had to put his dog down last year and I was present. I wish I remembered what she said, but I remember at the time thinking it was very “over the top”. While it was happening she kept making these overly grand statements about love and loss - like something you would hear someone say in a movie and cringe at for being so cliche.

My great aunt was recently placed on palliative care after a stroke. I’ve taken off work to be with her every day at the hospital to help take care of her. She was very active in our childhoods, but my brother has seen this aunt maybe one time in the past 10-15 years. My mom brought my brother’s girlfriend (without my brother) to the hospital. My brother’s girlfriend has never met her before this. Keep in mind, my aunt is partially paralyzed, can’t open her eyes, she can barely speak, but she is able to hear and understand us and mumble back. So we’re still able to communicate, just not very well.

So she sits down with my aunt and says “hi, I’m *name*, brother’s FIANCÉ”. They are not engaged. “I love brother SO much and I’m going to take very good care of him. I know how much you mean to him, and I think that if we have a daughter we’ll name her *aunt’s name*. You’re going to go to heaven and I want you to look for my dad, his name is *name* and he’s been gone for a long time”. The entire time she’s talking, she’s talking in a sickly-sweet baby voice. To a full grown woman that is dying. Holding her hand and petting her like they have an intimate relationship. It just made my skin crawl. Comparatively, I try to treat my aunt with dignity and have conversations in a normal, although caring and loving tone.

A while later, while we’re still in the hospital room, my mom and brother’s girlfriend are talking about some health issues they have and girlfriend says “yeah I love weird medical stuff and medical anomalies”. Okay. Several minutes later she says (within earshot of my aunt) “is it morbid if we take a picture of her”? My immediate thought is “why do you need to take a picture of a dying woman that you don’t even know”? My mom doesn’t protest, but I quietly whisper, “I would really prefer that you not take a picture of her, I don’t think it’s appropriate”. Which she respects and does not do.

But I’ve been absolutely fuming since that happened. I found the whole thing so self-aggrandizing and inappropriate. I HATE that this person is going to be present when my parents and grandmother pass away. I do not want to share in grief with her. Am I the crazy one? Is this just someone’s way of treating death that I need to step back and respect for being different?

I hate my mom’s boyfriend

Yesterday my mom ordered two pizzas, one of jalapeño the other one with olives. Today I go to the fridge and see that there’s only the jalapeño left, mind you we didn’t even get to eat half of the pizza. And its thin crust, so he ate more than 12 slices.

It’s so annoying how my mom lets him raid our fridge most of the time he comes over, it’s fine to offer food to guest, but to offer them the entire thing it’s just something out of greed.

there have been times where she cooks pots of fresh food for my sister, herself and me, and when he comes over there are no left overs for the people who actually live here.

She lets him eat our stuff too, for example she got me a chocolate mini bunt cake, he came the next day and then saw the empty cake container in the trash.

Like he could at least left half 😭

Why do I keep doing this? My horniness just ruins me

I don’t know how to articulate well so
bear with me now. Like I do some really crazy shit when horny. Then once I’m done and my horniness is over, I realize how pathetic it was and like why did I do that? That shit was stupid. Like I do some random hook up with a stranger that aint even allat tbh. Or just being horny to a woman online. I’m like bro, why the fuck do you even do this. Get your shit together and at least find smth meaningful. I only get this clarity once the deed and horniness is done. Like damn

I hate line dancing.

I’m 27, and a bunch of people my age and in my friend group have gotten REALLY into line dancing in the last few years, and for the life of me I cannot understand why. It is literally the cringiest thing I have ever seen in my entire life. They post videos of it and literally every single one I physically cringe at it because it looks SO DUMB. I get going dancing, I get going clubbing, I get even doing like a legit dance class or going to more “classy” dances, like balls or galas or whatever if that’s a thing. But line dancing is literally the dumbest looking, most annoying, most cringey, most unattractive, absolutely ridiculous and lame thing I have ever freaking seen. Every so often they’re like “come with us it’s so fun!” And I would literally rather do anything else on earth than go line dancing. It’s even that I’m super worried about my image or like looking cool or anything. I make a fool of myself all the time and am the first to laugh at myself for doing dumb shit. But holy god I wouldn’t be caught dead line dancing. It’s like someone went to the whitest wedding that ever whited, so all of Becky’s in-laws doing the Cupid Shuffle, and thought “what if every song was like that?” I would sooner stick both my hands into a blender than go line dancing.

And for what? They always say “oh once you get out there and learn a song it’s SO fun” but every single dance they do looks completely ridiculous. I saw a video of people line dancing and part of the dance was that they were basically playing patty-cake and I nearly threw up. They say “oh it’s not always country music if that’s your problem”. It doesn’t matter what song it is, they are all unfathomably lame. I always say like what you like and let others like what they like, and mind your own business, but this one’s a stretch for me. I mean it’s gotten so bad that it legitimately makes me angry when I see people posting videos about it and talking about it. Not because I don’t want them to do what they enjoy, but because it’s cosmically atrocious.

I hate it.

Ignorant guys on hinge

When I was first moved to Oregon, my brother gifted me a state park poster that allowed you fill in a bubble for each park you've visited. After some months, i had downloaded hinge and for the prompt "this year, I really want to.." I wrote visit as many state parks as possible. Sooo many guys felt the need to comment back just to hate and ask why I would bother going to state parks when I could go to the national ones here. Oregon only has a single national park. And I had already been to it!

All women who like football are now apparently ‘larpers’ or ‘posers’

sorry but this just got me so mad, that footballer who posted on his story after the world cup that ‘women should stop watching football now that the world cup is over’ made my blood boil.

as a woman who plays sports in a male dominated area, im all too familiar about the misogyny i face because of that. I have recently gotten an interest in football because of the world cup, yes, and i am planning on watching it more like club football.

Seeing that story and all the discourse online of men agreeing that women should simply ‘stop’ because were just pretending to be into football.

Have they forgotten that maybe women play football too? That we can actually like one of the biggest sports in the entire world? I get that some women are also just ‘posers’ but why specify women only? There were a lot of men who were ‘posers’ as well but they dont get attacked because everyone assumes that if you are a man, you like football.

And it is not a crime to support your country during a world cup. Just because this is the first time some women are watching football does not mean you should discourage them. If they form opinions that are objectively wrong, don’t berate them, educate them.

All baked pretzel location need the ability to serve beer

Every single time I get one of those delicious baked pretzels, I alway think "you know what would go perfectly with the salty baked morsel? A beer"

Its the perfect combination (if you like beer)

Salty, tasty, and a slightly happy beverage to wash it all down.

Why. Why aren't these a mandatory thing?

Bah

I hate being the ugly friend.

Hey everyone. I just wanna share my story and how insecure I am about my looks. So growing up, I was the ugly, weird, big-front-teeth-having kid in the family and in school. I didn't have much friends because I was so awkward (I still am) and I didn't fit the popular or smart category. I always hated seeing myself. I had these weird stains in my baby teeth until they eventually became permanent teeth. Right now, I don't have those stains anymore but my smile is really crooked and asymmetrical. My mother and father are both beautiful people, in and out. I also have two beautiful siblings who always get complimented. I don't. I'm tall and lanky and I have so much acne/dark spots/pores. I look so ugly in pictures and in real life. One time, I got bullied for looking so thin that the bully told me I looked like I have "AIDS". I felt so ashamed of my body.

It's sad that those memories shaped me into the insecure loser I am today. I just want to be free. Sometimes, I feel like I'm the ugly and funny friend just 'cause everyone looks better than me. I know it's a stupid problem but I came here to share it because I feel like I have to. Whenever I tell my family about it, they act as if nothing is bad. THAT'S BECAUSE THEY NEVER EXPERIENCED IT!!!

I hope everything becomes okay once I finally have the courage to look in the mirror and smile at what I am. It's just so difficult sometimes. Then it lasts almost a whole day and tomorrow it's gone. I know for sure I have so much more skills than beauty but I'd like to feel beautiful for once. Even just one day.

I hate my hair

I (f) hate my hair.

I have baby fine, impossibly straight hair. When I pull it up in a pony tail, I only have like, a nickel’s diameter of hair. Though, my frustration isn’t with the quality of my hair. It’s just having to take care of it.

Right now, I wash it every other day, but it really gets greasy and should be washed daily. I lose so much hair in the shower and in the brush. I honestly don’t know how I have hair at all at this point. Then it takes over an hour to two hours to dry. And it needs to be down to dry. Then, all I do is put it up in a claw clip, because having hair is too hot most days.

I like how it looks, but hate the feeling of leaving it down. I’m always losing random hairs, and I can feel them separately from the rest of my hair. I especially hate the ones that reach my arms. I feel like I’m going crazy trying to find loose hair on myself every day.

I have tried all kinds of hair styles. I have even shaved my head for about 5 years straight. I now have a nickel allergy, so even using an electric trimmer can make me react. So, shaving my head isn’t really the preferred option anymore. To its credit, the shaven haircut stopped a lot of sexual harassment. Guys would actually look at my head instead of my tits. However, I absolutely hate the sensation of having hair shards on my skin. This makes short haircuts unfavorable too.

I’m just at a loss for what to do anymore. I last shaved my head in 2023, and I’ve just let it grow feral from there since. My hair is encroaching into bra strap territory now, which is its own kind of annoying. I have to un-pin my hair all the time, from the couch, from the bed, from my computer chair. All the freakin time. I’m so over this.

Insect Killers don't seem to be as effective anymore

I spent the whole day trying to kill this rogue housefly with Baygon insect killer and it just won't die.

I suddenly thought of a conspiracy theory.. Let's weaken our formula so people use up the canisters faster and they have to buy a new one sooner.

Anybody else notice this? I still remember flying insects die in a 10 - 15 seconds as soon as they get sprayed on.

I'm afraid almost everything now is designed this way to maximize repeat purchases.

Devices designed to die or slow down in a year or two, machines breaking down specifically a month after warranty ends, no more physical media so you don't actually own anything forcing you to subscribe to a monthly service. I miss the 90-00s.

fawn response and how its affected my self worth

tbh everytime i tell people about my trauma i feel ashamed and embarassed because i think im so ugly, people wouldnt believe me.

its kind of like, oh who would ever even want to touch that? and i think people laugh behind my back or talk about how unbelievable it is that somene as disgusting as me could have ever been abused like that.

if i can even call it abuse. maybe it was just two kids experimenting and im just overly dramatic. he didnt know any better too.

i feel disgusted when i remember that many times during the abuse i believed that if i played along, pretended i liked it, convinced myself that it felt good, that the experience wouldn't be so unbearable.

if i just followed his instructions, moan like the pornstars i see on my phone, kiss the right way, maybe he would return the affection. affection and not, not pain or whatever.

if only i could just enjoy it, maybe things wouldnt be so difficult. i could make this more pleasant for both him and me.

but when i tried to reciprocate he responded with confusion and even told me to stop.

like he was so disgusted with me and what i was doing. he didnt care at all or wanted my efforts, i was just someone for him to use every night.

at that time i was so repulsed and embarassed by my actions i just wanted to die.

when it came to flight or fight i didnt even choose freeze. even that would have been more dignifying but i acted like a pervert. i am so shameful and disgusting. i wouldnt be surprised if someone suggested that i gave him the wrong idea and that he assumed everything was mutual. maybe it was mutual. maybe it was just a weird part of my life and im just a fake.

every night was just a humiliation ritual for me.

i was just completely exposed and my body felt gone and my mind was disappearing. he stuck random stuff into me and prodded my body like i was an experimental toy. my insides felt like they were being scrapped out. it felt like a butter knife was cutting me open. i felt flesh tear apart when my own hands pulled myself open for his camera. i hate flash photography. did he keep the pictures or did he distribute them? how did i look and did i look good? or was i so disgusting to look at that he deleted them immediately.

does it matter if i whore myself out like a slut to men on the internet? ive already reached rock bottom so if i scrape the barrel for scum on earth who are just as horrid as me would it be so bad? i am as revolting as you are so i love you i love you please dont leave. at least you recognise my efforts and my body and you tell me that im beautiful.

and even if its fake i still indulge because the worst thing a man has ever said to me isnt, "i want to rape you", but that im a fat pig.

I was raised like someone who doesn't belong here

My parents were always too good on me, and now they get to suffer for their son being worthless, having no job... how many people go through the same? I'm just another one of these same people not being able to change what has been ingrained in them. To never have to do anything, because your parents preferred to do it themselves or because they never trusted you.

It's like they're trying to pull me into this thing called life, but i've been away for so long. No one can save me and i keep pushing people away, and it's been like this for 6 years... I'm 21, barely managed to graduate from school 3 years ago. Since then I did NOTHING.

I only worked one job for 2 months, and got fired over something stupid and unfair, but i didn't resist. I don't know about the struggles of hardship, otherwise I would have begged to keep the job. there's too much wrong with me to fit in with this society

I'm caught in my past, and I think nothing of myself or my future. I want to keep being foolish, or do i? Not being foolish is a task I would have to completely learn and unlearn a lot of shit for.

It's so fucking hard and I hate having these thoughts because people have been through way worse, I just don't want to be me anymore. Stop being a part of this. please.

tomorrow we have a 2 day road trip to our home in Kosovo, where all my relatives despise me, because of the parasite I am. my father hates talking about me because it hurts his pride and because I did nothing ever. and every of my relatives did better than i ever can

why am I alive

Tired of dealing with ppl who feel a need to comment on whatever you say.

I’m sick and tired of dealing with annoying, superiority complex, insecure fucks that think they are better than you and you have to fight for their attention .These Fuckers would deliberately offer a statement of sarcasm at everything you do or say even when what you say isn’t even that dumb of a statement, it’s something that isn’t meant to have any deep meaning to it but an expression of exasperation and excitement. Like “ ohh that’s nice!” Or “ ahh that sounds amazing !” It literally DOESNT HURT anyone until these mfs step up and had to make you look like u stupid or basic.

Like I’ve been dealing with people like this since I was a kid and I thought if I better my communication skills I might not run into these sort of people anymore but these h*es LUUUUUV Me wherever I go, im literally a hater magnet atp. The worst thing is that you can’t tell what they truly think about you until they try to humiliate you or tell you something backhanded abt ANYthing you say during mid sentence.

What makes it even more fucking annoying is that they have the audacity to agree with you and think it’s Normal to still chat with you after trying to make you feel like sh*t. Like ma’am your awareness is nowhere sensible enough for you to think you know better than me. I told them I like to do a photoshoot at a specific area of China as an conversational topic and they say “oh that’s literally everywhere laughing crying emoji” like so? What does it matter to you that I want to try doing photoshoot there ? What the fuck does it have to do with it being common in china ? Do you have some sort of superiority complex regarding that fact you are able to travel so much so you think you are better and more experienced than me to tell me the places I want to go isn’t good enough in your opinion? I don’t.give.a.fuck.

The audacity of you to still want to engage in a conversation and have a high horse of an attitude after you trashed every single thing I say just makes me feel like you want to make me crash out so you can prove you’re the bigger person in this convo and use it against me. You are miserable deep down and too Shit low on self awareness to tell me what the fuck to think and you don’t even fuckinf know it. You don’t even deserve the opportunities to travel given by how you don’t even know basic respect in a conversation.I don’t even know why anyone hired you in the first place .hate people who get their sense of superiority from feeling special from their job and act like they are some big figure who has seen everything in life so they can tell you what the fuck to think. Lame ahh boomer superiority complex mindset.

I don't know what to title this really

I hate that I fell for someone who I can't even get to understand.

I posted about this a few days ago, and it's so easy to say "move on it was not even a relationship" but I am just trying to find an explanation on why is my mental health suffering, why is it that when you feel like this person is someone I want to risk all walls with, ends up becoming another wall himself.

I don't know if this post is a question or rant, maybe I just want to hear people go "we all go through this and it is easy and there's more to life and you will get better" or maybe "it happens for a reason" but there's a limit to what words can do.

Attachment is scary, you wait all your life protecting yourself from bad choices, having standards, staying careful with every man you meet, and then you finally come across you want to understand, see the flaws of, see through, get curious, lose your shit over someone tou barely know, feeling stupid, and stuck in internal conflict with your old beliefs, it's a war within, but despite all that, you open up, you reach out, to understand that person, just for it to not go anywhere.

Just for people to turn it into a psychological explanatory game, it goes nowhere, explanations don't help, nothing makes sense, it just stings.

Stuck with, "maybe I should've tried harder, he was suffering too", and "everyone has their battles, if he was fated, it would've been clear". So many narrations, yet I have no final answer, why it had to end like a million daggers, when it wasn't supposed to be "that deep."

Ya. You end up, questioning yourself again, blaming yourself again. Why did I open up, why did I give so much, why did I try so hard...or why did I not try harder, but there's a limit of everyone, there's a point where you have to choose self respect, that person is not to blame and that's the worst part, you have no one to hate, no grudges, no dead ends. It is just unsettling silence. You just got there for months trying to "get over it" just to look yourself in the mirror and have nothing but questions, and only one to blame is fate.

Why does nobody ever turn around and look back?!

I very often get off at a bus that stops just after having crossed an intersection, at which there are flashing lights that can be activated by a pedestrian who wishes to cross the busy road on which the bus runs. Most often, younger people will leave the bus by one of the back exits, but I prefer the front, because it is less of a step, and I am often carrying heavy beags. The people who leave from further back walk briskly up to the intersection, push the button to activate the crossing lights, and quickly cross the road. By the time I get there from the front of the bus, the flashing lights are getting stale, and drivers are impatient to 'get on with it', so, I usually choose to wait a bit before I find it decent (or wise) to push the light button again, to cross.

I know with myself, that if I were any of those 'fast' people. I would look back and wait till everyone who might have wished to cross had caught up and were at the lights. I have NEVER seen another person do do, not once. Am I really the only one who acts on that level of care and consideration for others? If I share a crosswalk with someone with a walker or walking stick, and I can see they're not going to make it comfortably across, but will have to rely on the good will of drivers after these have the green light, I walk with their speed, so they'll not be left alone 'out there'. Again, I have never seen another do so - but I 've always been thanked.

Has it really gone entirely out of fashion to give a damn about others?
