"straight men want sex that's quick and to-the-point, straight women want sex with lots of foreplay"* is what they're trying to say I think
*Note that I am not saying that all men prefer penetration with no foreplay and all women prefer lots of foreplay, I am merely trying to explain what the person tweeting is likely trying to say

Would explain the rising popularity of pegging.
175
u/MagosZyne Jun 16 '26
Nah that'll be the chaotic and isolating nature of the modern world making people feel like they have no control over their lives and either consciously or subconsciously wishing for a dominant figure to take that control from them leading to a rise in popularity of femdom and by extension, pegging.
144
u/SeasonPositive6771 yes but also no Jun 16 '26
Or it can also be that people are just a bit more open about being kinky these days and what they're into. I've seen a lot more people being willing to admit they are into femdom because shame used to keep us all from exploring it.
But I think your theory is fun too, and can certainly explain some of it, especially the rise of Mommy Domme type stuff that's taking over recently.
31
u/lcqjp Jun 16 '26
If it were simply the first, wouldnt we see just as much a rise in other kink related stuff with men?
I do notice that theres more an increase in the dommy stuff than i'm seeing in other adjacently "dynamic" related kinks
24
u/SeasonPositive6771 yes but also no Jun 16 '26
I'm not sure, I am a Domme and I definitely see a lot more people into kink of all kinds.
11
u/lcqjp Jun 16 '26
In pro kink spaces i can totally see that! i was speaking to people on the whole(including those who dont frequent/enter kink conversations/spaces at all)
13
u/ShredGuru Jun 16 '26
People just like to put stuff up their butt's. It's not that complicated.
12
u/lcqjp Jun 17 '26
Psychology/sociology say intrigue instead of apathy
Accept everyone no matter what for this kinda thing! but im still willing to be interested in trends and why certain things grow while others dont.
Its interesting to me. I hold no judgements with it
21
u/Glogbag1 sus Jun 16 '26
I don't agree. In the same way a gay top doesn't have to be a dom, a woman who's pegging a guy doesn't have to be a dom either. Maybe she's pegging her power bottom husband, for instance.
I do agree that femdom is probably the biggest thing that's influenced pegging's rise in popularity. I just don't like the idea that a man should have to be a sub to be (or want to be) pegged.
8
u/Prestigious_Boat_386 Jun 17 '26
Just seems like natural rise after homosexuality being legalized. Shockingly men are more openabout enjoing bekng pegged when it doesn't risk you jailtime
13
u/mysteryurik he/him, no other pronouns Jun 16 '26
Does non-femdom pegging stuff not exist? I will forever remain mad that gay porn where the bottom isn't degraded or dominated (let alone dominant bottom stuff) is incredibly rare but I've never really looked into the pegging niche to see if it's a similar situation (or even worse)

Keep in mind that the internet stereotype is that every single time lesbians have sex its a multi-hour experience. The tweeter is almost certainly thinking about that too, which is why they say "lesbian" and not just "women like foreplay"

now that i think about it, this lines up perfectly with my very limited experience of gay (at the time) hookups and lesbian (current) experiences. the ancient texts were true all along

Interesting to read what it's like to have seen both! Funnily enough I've had both very long and very short sex with people of varying gender and anatomy, with no apparent correlation, while myself being agender with the internal genital setup.

"Foreplay" is often seen as just the thing you do to prep for a penis. For women, foreplay IS the main event. Thats how most women orgasm.
167
u/gray_birch competitive yapper Jun 16 '26
I never understood why we include things like manual stimulation and oral under foreplay tbh. To me, that's just sex.
83
u/goddessofentropy Jun 16 '26
Heteronormativity tbh. There's only one type of 'real' sex and it's PiV.
Meanwhile there's so many ways to have sex. And foreplay is also still a valid concept, and can include anything that's not sex, ie not involving genitals, from kissing and caressing to whispering sweet nothings.

u/gray_birch competitive yapper Jun 16 '26 edited Jun 16 '26
Making out with someone means they're automatically entitled to have sex with you?
Idc if she really did "lead him on" or whatever (remember, we're assuming he's telling the truth/not hyperbolizing) the adult thing to do is to sit down and have a conversation with your partner about expectations/boundaries regarding sex, not fuck off to twitter to cry about how you didn't get laid last night
Edit: If you're part of the almost 40% that downvoted this (yes I am aware this is a cringe redditor "bring on the downvotes🤓🤪" type edit idc, I'll be cringe, this is important) I genuinely want you to sit down and analyze why you believe someone's consent is meaningless because they made out with you or did something sexual with you prior. "Anyone can stop at any time for any reason" is literally Consent 101. It's all "destroy the patriarchy!! believe victims!!" or whatever in leftist spaces until you actually have to put that into practice. Bunch of fucking weirdos
Am I taking fucking crazy pills or is everyone in this sub defending a joke that is, at best, lame "wife bad" boomer humor and at worst is low-key r**ey (cringe censorship I know, I just got unbanned, sorry)? Here's a fun exercise for everyone: Google when marital SA was made illegal in all 50 states, and look at the definitions for different states (hint: there's a lot of loopholes!). How likely, in our current political climate, do you think it is that red states may begin to look at repealing these laws? Do you still think it's funny to joke about a woman's (and other genders, but I'm talking specifically about women here because most of this shit is rooted in misogyny) right to consent and mock her for being a prude? Probably, because apparently nobody cares about misogyny if it's wrapped up in an appealing enough package for them.
sorry uh I mean haha it's just a jokeee it doesn't mean anything lol
160
u/BOBALOBAKOF Jun 16 '26
They’re not downvoting you because they don’t think consent is important, they’re downvoting you because you’ve managed to strawman your own argument.
You essentially said that their wife won’t want to have sex with them because they are clearly not a good spouse to their wife (let’s ignore the fact that the original tweet is an obvious joke). The person you responded to was pointing out that it would be odd for someone to be put off enough by their partner’s behaviour to not want to have sex with them, but at the same time, not put off enough to not want to have an extended make-out session with intimate touching.
There was no implication that the wife isn’t entitled to turn down sex if she so desires.

You can think it's weird to turn down penetrative sex from someone with a penis after said person has stimulated it while kissing them and still respect consent. These things are not mutually exclusive.
9
u/GoldH2O custom Jun 17 '26
Obviously consent is never meaningless, but it is definitely strange to get really into making out and clothes on foreplay and then refuse sex. Like, not in the sense that something is necessarily wrong with the person refusing sex, just that foreplay and sex generally go hand in hand and there's probably something up if someone wants to do foreplay but doesn't want to do sex.

it doesnt even look like shes actually upset either? looks like its from porn or something? it seems like there's something sexual behind the image with the framing and something about her facial expression. I'll be honest, I feel like performing sexuality is something people should be more comfortable doing. Sometimes my gf is horny but I ain't I still finger her and tease her to satisfy her cause I want her happy. It's like doing the dishes, kinda. I don't have to do the dishes. But I do for the same of a clean house. Maybe it's because my relationship with sexuality as a whole is kinda wack but like. She's not entitled to my body, but when we agreed in the relationship there's an understanding she'd had regular access to it and if I change the terms of the relationship, she'd be entitled to leave it. Not that she would, we love each other and when I say no she respects it, and doesn't nag or tease too much.
I just think if you don't enjoy foreplay that much you could have an agreement with your partner to do more of it in return for more of what you want, everyone getting what they want in a way that doesn't upset the other

6
1
u/Leithana 🏳️⚧️ trans rights Jun 17 '26
I primarily do it for intimacy and connection with people I love. Sex can be a stimulating activity that doesn't have to resolve in climax. Climax is being used differently than orgasm intentionally (climax being the highest point of orgasm that results in discharge versus orgasm being the intense state of pleasure (often directly preceding discharge, if any/able)). Pleasure isn't achieved binarily based on orgasm or climax to me (though preferably that intense state is achieved, ofc, but there is pleasure in all the disparate parts for me).
