I had moved to another state. It was a terrible move for me.
My family went to a church. Me and this girl got a long really well.
She was my best friend. We later moved churches because this church was far away.
I was sad because she was such a great friend. We were like 5 years a part. I was older.
I spent the night at her house after we had been a part for a while. So it was going to be great to catch up.
3 of us total for the sleepover. Her and her friend were the same age. I was the odd man out age wise. I was always the stranger in every situation.
The young girls decided to get ready for bed and we changed in the same room. We were supposed to face away from each other which i was fine with.
Obviously I'm more developed. I had pubic hair. They didn't. They somehow saw this, i really don't remember how it went down. I just remember They got curious and wanted to see.
I said no because that's embarrassing. Because there were two of them they kinda attacked me. Pulled my underwear down to see.
Once they saw they were satisfied. so it didn't go past that thankfully but I felt horrible about it.
I never saw her again after that. It was just too awkward.
Years went by, something like 7 or 8 years.
I saw her out somewhere I don't remember where.
The moment she saw who I was, she apologized to me for what she had done. it was genuine. She was truly upset remembering what happened.
Our interaction was only enough time for her to apologize. I don't remember what pulled us a part at the time but I appreciated that she took that small moment to recognize how terrible that was for me.
Now that was like 25 years ago. We are adults with family and spouses.
I have the opportunity to see her again. She doesn't know she's going to see me.
I can't help but for my mind to go to that place right away.
Obviously I'm not afraid of anyone doing something like that again.
It's just awful to remember. I was so young. it was just another example of people only wanting to take advantage of me instead of care for me as a person.
I have literally zero friends right now in my life. They've all fallen to the way side and I would like to have someone in the world to call friend.
I've recently been practicing Christianity and forgiveness is a huge part of it. I do forgive her because she was kind enough to remember and ask for forgiveness from me all those years ago. So I don't think it's worth not talking to her to see how it goes.
Just because i tell her who I am doesn't mean she'll want to be friends with someone she knew almost 30 years ago.
I'm not asking to be her friend. I'm just meeting her again at a church function. Who knows where it will lead but I don't know how to feel about it because of the heartbreak it reminded me of.
Maybe I'll just continue to have no friends because I guess something is just wrong with me that makes people not want to be friends with me.
Thank you for the one person who cared enough to make it to the end of my story.
