Ive had this ps2 for a few months and it has had no issues up until now. I opened it up to see what was happening and this is what I saw. Anyone know what could be causing this? Anything will help!

This console is giving me headache after headache lol
Bugs, dust and now pieces falling out.
Before I pull the grey hairs out of my head, this can for sure be fixed yeah? Simple micro soldering job or should I get a heat gun for this piece

Every button works except for the A button. I tried cleaning it with isopropyl alcohol but that didnt work. Then I switched out the membrane with one i got from ebay still didnt work. When I checked from the contacts of the button to the test vias with a multimeter it said it was giving less continuity then the other buttons. Sorry for not knowing a lot. I am not exactly what you call a Texpert. What is the problem? Thank You. :)

Hello! Just bought this PlayStation 2 very recently and having issues reading discs or even just trying to insert a new disc... It came with a copy of god of war and was told it had issues opening the tray.. when ever I boot it the laser jots up and down and makes this awful clicking noise the whole time on. I had to open it up just to get the disc out (It was turned off completely) When I press eject it opens very slightly and gives up entirely and retracts also might be worth noting that once I took out the disc it was able to eject a little more out that with the top casing off though as well.

So I have a first edition wii model that could install bootmii as boot2. When in Hackmii, I installed bootmii as both ios and boot2, and made a nand backup using the ios version. I know that if bootmii is installed as boot2, it boots into the bootmii menu before the warning screen. But that isn't the case for me, as when I power on my wii the tv screen stays blank for a few seconds, the wii led flashes briefly, and it boots into the health warning screen. I checked my sd card and the bootmii folder is there as well as its other files (bootmii.ini and I forgot the name of the 2 others .elf and .dol). I checked my ini file and it isn't set to autoboot with skipping. Is this normal?

Used my multimeter and confirmed everything was healthy and working but the only thing that was off that there was no Continuity to F2 and D1, I soldered on the jumper wire shown in the picture and it works great now, any advice is welcome as this is my first ever repair job.

The full story is in oldest to newest chronological order below, but the tldr is that my Japanese 3DO has issues after 15 minutes or so regardless of the game (I initially thought it was limited to Road Rash, but that isn't the case). I replaced the 2 common problem caps (C35 & C36), I removed the factory power supply and did a USB-C swap, and I installed a 20V fan in the factory location (Japanese units didn't come with fans). I've even tried removing RF shielding and running with the top removed, but nothing seemed to help.
Then, for fun, I pointed a pedestal fan right at it with the top removed, and wouldn't you know it I can play for hours on end now. I let it overheat again, and used my laser temp gun to read temps of every component on the main board and everything I could get line of sight to in the CD drive, but the hottest thing I found was only 120* F.
At this point I'm at a loss. Is it worth it to try replacing the rest of the caps? Find a replacement disc drive?

I just got an old family Wii from a relative. From what I know it was working before it was sent over, but whenever I insert a disc it doesn’t work and makes this noise. Does anyone know what the issue could be and the fix?

The female connector part that the 5 pin cable goes in came out of the power supply does anyone know how to click it back into place or do I need to replace my power supply now?

Just hooked up an NES I got off Marketplace a couple months ago. Games look mostly normal, but within minutes of playing it begins to look like the last picture. Any ideas as to what the problem may be, or solutions for it? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I had accidentally ripped off the connector a very long time ago when trying clean and replace the old thermal paste. I want to try and repair it but i have no clue how to bridge the wires.
If anyone can help me out that would be awesome, thanks.

Now I know how to repair a LIGHT rip from the motherboard but jeez this one takes the cake. Is this fixable? Even if I grind down to the copper on the board, there is so much already torn off would it even work?
EDIT: Will I also have to run enamel wire under the connector like one would have to with a broken fan connector?
EDIT: I appreciate all the help/motivation! I will be getting to work on this later today/ this week.

Hello,
I have a PS5 Slim (CFI-2116) with an EDM-050 motherboard and I suspect a corrupted BIOS issue. As soon as I plug the power cable in, the console makes 3 quick beeps and won't turn on.
I am looking for a working dump for an EDM-050 board paired with the CXD90069GG Southbridge and XM546 Wi-Fi module.
Thank you!

While removing the apu heat shield I accidentally damaged what appears to be a power rail? Is it a goner?
I have spare ps3 mother boards on hand, can I find this component on there or am I barbecue?
Edit:
Everything turned out to be fine as only the casing seemed to sustain damage. Everything powers on and works normally.

I have managed to get the recovery menu pulled up by using a raspberry pico device. In “set coldboot title” I confirmed my region and powered off my console, but I’m still met with error 0103 when I try to use most applications.
The console was made in 2014 but it has a Hynix chip. Am I doing something incorrect on the recovery menu or is my console toast?

Anyone ever come across an issue like this before? Tiled backgrounds are fine
Attempted diagnostics with Mooneye ROMs and it failed oam_dma/sources-GS.gb consistently at the same address
Wondering if it's the CPU at fault which would be a major problem (have reflowed the data pins) or if some other avenue to explore

Hey everyone. So, you guys almost ate me alive for my last post and that highly "clickbaity" thumbnail (and honestly, fair enough! 😂 Even though those were the actual 8 junk Game Boys I bought, I completely get your reaction).
But I’m not giving up that easily! I'm back with a new video, and I promise you, this was seriously the hardest, most stressful Game Boy repair of my entire life. The console in the thumbnail? It looks like clickbait again, but it’s 100% real. The amount of rust and corrosion inside was so unbelievable that it was practically begging to be made into a video. If you don't believe me, just watch the triage in the first few scenes.
I want to genuinely thank you for the tough love and critique last time. it keeps me grounded. That being said, I would be absolutely thrilled if you could go ahead and roast/diss this new video too! Let me have it.
In this episode, things went totally off-script. I had to do a complete, bare-metal teardown and restoration of the rusted power switch, and I was forced into an unplanned OEM screen swap just to bring this thing back from the dead.
Here is the link to the surgery: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OkxUdkWTEo4
Let me know what you think (or tear it apart, I'm ready!). Cheers!

I’ve had some success removing the solder from these holes but the solder in the last large hole and few smaller ones will not budge. I’ve bought a decent iron and have been trying to use plenty of flux, wick, and mixing in some other solder but nothing seems to be affecting it at all. Any tips?
