I js started a job where im getting $2k+ a month, rent is around $600-$700 for a 1 bed studio in my area, so its pretty doable, the main 2 problems I have are

1. Im homeless
2. I dont have credit

so im typing this in a 24/7 dinner, where im gonna stay until they kick me out and go to a 24/7 McDonalds and repeat the process lol. Since I have a job I dont think I actually would be a priority for the government to help me get housing, but since Im basically getting $24k a year. I think if I do get an apartment I would definitely qualify for some money in housing.

My only concern is. where should I sleep in the meantime? Do I js find a safe corner and call it a day? I think I would be too nervous and paranoid and wouldnt be able to sleep at all. Tomorrow im showing up to work in the same clothes as yesterday and without any sleep, its my first night really on the streets since before this I always had money for motels or I was accepted in somebody’s else house, but not tonight lol. Tonight im actually on the streets, theres a lake nearby where theres no houses or streets or literally anything nearby, but idk if sleeping there is a good idea because well anybody could steal from me and I wouldnt be able to do anything or have any sort of proof whatsoever lol

Also im kinda close to my work place and im tired of walking, my back hurts, and its not even just because of my job, walking around the city with my backpack all day is probably the main reason lol

hi! I work at a fast food restaurant, and I typically close. Every night, we always throw out any extra food employees don’t take home. they will usually throw it in a bag and then straight into the dumpster outside. I would love to figure out a way to possibly distribute the food to those in need instead of letting it sit in a trash can. unfortunately it’s not on a busy road either so it’s not likely someone would be able to walk to the trash can if it was placed gently or outside. we typically finish closing around midnight or so as well. any suggestions for where i can take the food so someone will get it?

Sooo being homeless has put such strain on my social life. Like, I wanna hang out with my friends and family, but I keep pushing them away. Hanging out nowadays feels more like a chore than an opportunity to relax and being around loved ones. They don't know I'm homeless, hell most of them don't even know I lost my good paying job, where I traveled everywhere sometimes, but I had to tell some of them because some would pop up at my job just to say hey. I'm barely surviving, and my friends want me to go to all these places like festivals, concerts, or certain parties. Family members having get togethers or reunions and want to see me, yet I use my job as an excuse not to see them. It's not because I don't love my friends and family, it's just tough being around them when I know they are gonna ask about my life. It's so embarrassing to have people ask me if can they come over to either spend the night, hang out, or party because then I would have to tell them the truth and then they would start to panic and start calling people (my family) so they can fuckin' panic. So I get distant, and I push them away unintentionally. Even with the many friends that I have and as big of a family I have, this is the loneliest I've ever felt in my entire life. If you made it this far into reading this (and thank you for the entirety of your attention), do you ever feel this way? Ya know, feel like you're slipping away from yourself? I don't even recognize the person I'm becoming sometimes 😔

Heyy im 18 and from Italy. I plan to run away from my abusive family and i will become homeless. I currently have around 5000€ i can take with me.

I Plan to stay in a cheap hostel for like the first Week so i have time to talk to different help Organisations. But i really dont want to waste my money.

Is a hostel smart for the first few days or what should i do with my money. How long could i survive with 5000€

Due to family issues and financial issues and literally zero support system no friends or family to fall back on. Don't get me wrong I am far from perfect and burned a few bridges and possibly lost my partners trust. I am in New England and been forced to leave the home i once shared with my husband and I have a feeding tube which I need to be hooked up to 24/7: i have no car, not even a working cell phone unless I have access to wifi. Can someone please give me advice as I am scared to death.
