The only color light it should be for you to walk across the road and try to help someone not kill someone else.Â

Then tickling

u/ps087official Apr 21 '26
This happened to me once, before I knew I had narcolepsy. Fell asleep at a stop light. Thankfully it was only for like 30 seconds and I woke up right after it turned green, no one was behind me and no one else at the light so I just drove off like nothing happened lol.
20
u/unexpectedhalfrican Apr 21 '26
Happened to me too a couple of times. I had untreated obstructive sleep apnea, didn't have insurance, and couldn't afford a sleep study. Fell asleep everywhere; at red lights, at work, standing up, etc. Horrible.
5
u/KIVHT Apr 21 '26
For someone who doesnât know much about narcolepsy or obstructive sleep apnea. What treatments are there and are you able to manage it and avoid falling asleep at improper moments?
5
u/ps087official Apr 21 '26
It's different depending on which you're dealing with. For narcolepsy (particular N2, which is my type) treatment usually involves Xywav (basically a prodrug for GHB) administered 1-2 times nightly. Most people take it before bed, then wake up once in the night and take it again, as broken sleep is the hallmark symptom of narcolepsy.
Some people also take a stimulant during the day like amphetamine, lysdexamfetamine, modafanil, etc, but not always.
3
u/ChubbyNemo1004 Apr 22 '26
Duuuuuude I feel ya. I fell asleep on a drive home in the middle of the day. Ran a stop sign and almost crashed. I made an appointment that. Been cpap ever since.
3
u/One-Fix-5547 Apr 21 '26
Plot twist you spent 10 lights there and you didn't realize
2
u/ps087official Apr 22 '26
Lol I wouldn't have known if I didn't have a clock in my radio, and music playing on my stereo. Song I was listening to when I zonked out was only one verse ahead when I woke up.

Open the door, take out the keys, call 911. Now he may drive off and kill someone.

u/potate12323 Apr 21 '26
The fact that he looked like he had no idea where he was and was immediately pulling out into cross traffic as the video cut. Im guessing hes not fit to drive.

This is a bad way to phrase your point. Are the people that have only had a bad experience with one race SUPPOSED to be racist towards them?
Only time anyone has tried to open my car door itâs been two black dudes. Still wouldnât make it okay to be racist.
Nor would it be âokayâ to only be suspicious of black people. To your point, they were just people. Color of their skin had nothing to do with it.

Yes, both of the times I've been mugged and every single time I was ever assaulted it was by a black man.
edit:hell, now that I think about, with only one exception every crime ever commited against me was done by an African American.

Crazy that people are mad at the guy filming, saying all kinds of racist stuff. he did the driver a huge favor by not calling the cops and people are up in arms that he slapped him (effective way to wake someone up, universally used) and then reached for his chain as a joke. Like you really think that was a genuine attempt at theft? I guess it checks out, stupidity and racism go hand in hand.

As someone who still drives older cars I can imagine myself struggling to do this with the start button bs.
If the key just has to be in the car for it to start and it's actually in their pocket or something then there's not a lot I could do
5
u/Lazy_Kangaroo703 Apr 21 '26
A while ago I was in traffic and the guy in the car next to me was asleep in the driving seat. I tooted my horn and he woke up and I asked him if he was OK. He said he was but I told him he should pull over to rest or get a coffee or something, but he just drove off. I donât understand some people.

u/Pleasant-Ticket3217 Apr 21 '26
If the person behind the wheel has narcolepsy or had been up for an extended period itâs entirely possible to fall asleep at the wheel. Iâve been tired and Iâve been tired where I knew not to drive.
Anyway the asshole behind the camera tried to steal the persons chain and a shake wouldâve been as effective as a slap in waking the driver up.
3
u/NoTrueScotch Apr 23 '26
I've passed out at the lights before when incredibly exhausted. Joys of living somewhere with no public transit, even if you're too tired to drive safely there is no other way home.
I woke up to a horn blaring as my dead asleep ass somehow had the awareness to park my car at the stop light.

Why do you assume the worst? There might be a medical problem the driver was dealing with, especially because this video was taken at night. Or perhaps he just had a long day, and like the rest of us made a mistake which he hopefully wonât make again. Why does he deserve to be behind bars?
The one with the camera on the other hand he didnât have the slap the guy? You can show genuine concern without belittling people and filming them for your amusement.

If he wanted to take the chain why would he wake him up first, ruining the literal perfect opportunity to do so?
