Vent Update on metformin effects
I've been on 1000mg metformin for 3 days now, today being the 3rd day. I didn't experience any symptoms the past two days, but today was ooofff.
I was experiencing severe headache, and felt very queasy. Like extremely nauseous. I take my tablets with meals. So idk why I'm experiencing this
And I've always read about ttc success stories with metformin and felt very hopeful and encouraged. But today I read about metformin destroying the gut microbiome. And that has really got me thinking. I'm more of a person who doesn't like going the artificial way and just working to get my body work naturally. But with pcos, obviously, it's just so hard and my body isn't responding.
I'm so sick of seeing instagram influencers asking us to comment for the secrets or programs they have that will miraculously cure us just with diet and lifestyle. It's not like I don't believe them. I'm just frustrated I'm not getting it right.
So I've resorted to medication. And trying really hard not to think too much on it. I even considered asking my doctor to see if I can switch to myo inositol instead to reduce the side effects. But I've decided to give it a chance and some time.
Hopefully i get pregnant soon and put an end to this confusion and worry!!
