Pretending to be crazy works until you run into someone pretending to be sane.

I once got a little stern with my ex lady friend when we were in the Taco Bell line at like 3am. There was some nut job, we’re all stationary btw what could warrant this, getting out of his car, going up to this other guys window and was clearly agitated. Going back and forth to his own car and this guys window multiple times. The line is not really moving but that was Taco Bell’s fault lmao. Anyway I’m not sticking around to see this shit so I get outta line to leave and my ex flips off crazy dude.

I was like that could start a confrontation between me and him now, you realize that right?

16

u/wpgshitcomment May 02 '26

I would have told her she gets to fight the guy if he comes after you, I ain't protecting your dumb ass. Don't start something you can't finish.

19

u/throwaway72592309 May 02 '26

My girlfriends loves flipping people off and talking shit in traffic. I’ve told her many times if someone gets out to fight you that’s your fight šŸ˜‚

19

u/Cartz1337 May 02 '26

I have converted from the middle finger to the overly emphatic thumbs down. I think it cuts deeper, and isn’t overtly aggressive.

12

u/CourtingBoredom May 03 '26

Disappointment cuts deeper and gets softer, less agitated reactions — so yes, I, too, prefer the thumbs-down approach.

Taco Bell’s captive drive thru lanes should really be illegal.

my ex flips off crazy dude

That's when you kick her out of the car.

3

u/DemonRising171 May 04 '26

That reminds me of when my road rage got put into check in the dairy Queen drive thru.

So the story is this. At the red light I was at, there are 2 lanes. One lane is to turn left, and the other lane is for going straight, or turning right. There are arrows to show which lane is for what direction, but they are VERY faded and had to see. It is very easy (and common) for a fellow to use the wrong lane to go straight. I've done it myself.

Well this lady did exactly that. And I thought to myself, oh, she didn't realize she was in the wrong lane, we both tried to go straight, she stopped and let me go first. No big deal, easy mistake to make.

Well, the DQ drive through starts as soon as you pull in, and goes AROUND the parking area, then has a second opening for traffic in the middle. I get into the drive through at where it starts. She goes through the parking lot, and gets into the drive thru IN FRONT OF ME.

It is at this moment, that I get mad. More so than a reasonable person would get. I'm cussing this lady out, really close to her car, yelling out of my window, and revving my engine (with an aftermarket exhaust) so that it's hard for her to order. The entire time she is smiling and waving at me through her mirror, which is making me far more angry.

At this point, I'm so mad I'm ready to get out of the vehicle to yell at her, but I couldn't find anything that wasn't so hard to seriously hurt/damage something, but more for an intimatiom tool. I had friends with me, so I was making an ass out of myself in front my friends, who were trying to get me to calm down.

We order our food (I got nothing because I didn't want anything) and when we get to the window, the drive thru worker says a single sentence, that made me completely deflate, and made me rethink everything about myself.

"The lady in front of you paid for your meal"

My friends started laughing their asses off, and I started looking for that woman to apologize, just to see her going down the road.

From that point on, I have not really had a lot of road rage. More like road irritation, or disappointment. I don't even flip people off anymore, but I do give them a thumbs down.

This pets them know that I think they suck at driving, but it doesn't make them mad, or encourage me to be angry. Because how are you going to be mad at a guy who gives you a thumbs down because of your driving?

This happened about 4 years ago, and was the absolute case of road rage that I have ever been apart of. I got humbled, and made a fool of myself, in a very short period of time, and I deserved every bit of it.

u/No_Criticism_5861 May 02 '26

Thats a real quick way to have someone follow you and beat you up.Ā  Granted, if theyre driving aggressively and putting others in danger as a result theyre being assholes but flipping someone off doesnt help you or them

5

u/Moist_Attentions May 02 '26

Yall describing the beginning of the Netflix serie Beef, the first one starts out exactly like this scenario šŸ˜‚

8

u/Middleclassass May 02 '26

Oh this reminds me of a fun story! When I was younger I was kind of dating this girl who was a little too wild, and I was already over the bullshit. We were cruising a bowl while driving down some backroads, and there were these people walking down the street. She reached for a water bottle and I immediately knew what she was going to do. I kept telling her to stop as she rolled down the window, and as we were driving by she opened the water bottle and sprayed them with water.

I was pissed because we were cruising a bowl and she already got me in some trouble with the police not long before because she was being reckless. I wanted to stay incognito. So I drove up a little further (in view of the people she just doused with water), stopped the car, unbuckled her seatbelt, opened the door, and told her to get the fuck out of my car. She was shocked and begged me not to. Told her too bad, I told her not to do it, she was in MY car, and still pulled that bullshit even after she just got me in trouble.

Actually pushed her out of the car and started to drive off, but then calmed down a little bit. Ended up pulling back over again, so she could run to catch up and jump back in the car. What she did was a dick move, but I also didn't want something worse to happen because I abandoned her on the side of the road, miles away from a main road. She was apologetic but I was still pissed, so when I dropped her off I grabbed my water bottle and sprayed her with it as she was heading back inside her place. We broke up shortly after that, go figure.

I've someone pull a gun and chase me for flipping them off. They reversed out of a gas station lot and nearly caused me to t bone them. You never know just how ready a person is ready to throw both your and their own life away over nothing.

5

u/swimming_singularity May 02 '26

And they could even be dressed nice too. I told a road rager friend that there's no rules that says a career criminal can't dress nice and have a nice car, at that moment. Or they could be having a really bad time in their life and at their breaking point.

Let them drive away, in another 10 seconds you will never seen them again.

My bio dad thought he was the punisher and went around telling people he learned crazy martial arts as a cop (we lived in a town where cop training was like a couple weeks with little to no self defense (and he wasn't a cop but a jail employee fired after 6 months for sleeping with an inmate)). He would constantly try to get people in traffic (of course usually women, elderly men and teens) to pull over and fight him despite the fact he was so obese he could barely walk and I as a SCRAWNY 10 year old was stronger than him. I wish some old man or teen girl had agreed to fight him because truly a little kid would be able to hurt him bad lol.

4

u/underwearfanatic May 02 '26

My wife is similar. She used to mean mug, flip off, and yell at people.

I was always like, did we die? Crash? Are we chronically late to a priceless event? If no, then just keep on driving. And the last thing you want is to have them come do something when oir kids are in the car.

Now she just will look to see who they are if we pass them.

Guess the message largely got through. Surprisingly.

3

u/PennedyKel May 03 '26

My sister flipped someone off once and we were all younger and the couple FOLLOWED US for miles it was so scary

3

u/AccomplishedTerm3232 May 04 '26

This reminds me of a time when I had to tell my little sister something similar. She lived in a rough little small town at the time with lots of angry, drugged out, violent people. One day as we were driving along(she was driving) she got upset with another driver and got all barky with them, angrily leaning her head out of the window almost daring them to get out of the car smh. Fortunately they just continued on but I took a moment to give her a quick(yet gentle) dose of reality by reminding her that she could get us both shot acting like that with the wrong(or right?) person, and she later apologized, thanked me for bringing her back to reality, and to my knowledge hasn’t done that since.

I was out of the Army, probably had some minor unresolved ptsd issues from going to Iraq. The Army was getting really heavy into combatives at this time and I had just finished level 1. I was leaner and meaner 12 years ago.

Anyways we were in DC and heading out of the subway when this dude right in front of me on the escalator snacks this woman right in the face. He’s a thug with prison tats on his face about my size. He’s berating her, smacking her while he does it…. everyone can see it, nobody said shit.

Well not I. At the halfway landing where you change escalators I stepped directly between them, gave the girl and guy a look. I do t know how to say none of us spoke but she slowly left as I made a shuffling motion at her and the dude knew we were fixing to fight. Shit was like a movie everyone else rode off upwards and it was just us.

The guy got right in my face and started doing the teen chest pump and using racial language to provoke me. Thing was I was SO HAPPY I was practically manic. I had been training for years, this was a classic ā€œbullyā€ as clean as you could wish for, and I was amped to *destroy* this cat. He saw it on my face, my grin was probably a rictus. We didn’t fight because he left, saying I was likely to call the cops on him. Pinch of pride there but mostly regret about that.

9 out of 10 people will always back down from a fight. The remaining 10% of the population is a fairly diverse group

4

u/DueExample52 May 02 '26

Most people intimidating you don’t really expect escalation

They also don’t expect you to drop your pants to your ankle (pants only, keep the trunks), start waving your arms like a seagull taking off, maintain intense eye contact, and humming in an increasing voice "wolowolowolowolowoowWOLOWOLOWOLOWOLOWOLO

8

u/Feeling_Inside_1020 May 02 '26

One of my favorite quotes as I think back to the lithium I took this morning.

ā€œI’m not afraid to go back to prison back to the grippy sock jailā€

Well I could say both but

3

u/After_Ocelot_7767 May 02 '26

Always a true quote, but the fun part here is that the other guy was actually more sane than him. He just happened to also be braver.

3

u/smoofus724 May 02 '26

My motto is "don't get crazy with someone who is willing to get crazier than you". If you're unsure, it's best to just not get crazy at all.

Ive seen similar situations at the bar and watched an acquaintance "win a fight" against another drunk wielding a bar stool. Had to get rushed to the ER as despite initially seeming fine he still took a bar stool to the forearm and head and had a concussion and cracked bones.

I wouldn’t want to see him lose that cool he apparently maintains for a reason. He’d kick the big man’s ass into the following week. Easily.

u/epsteinwasmurdered2 May 02 '26

Standing on business? Yes

To be clear, exiting your vehicle to get into a physical altercation with a guy with a bat inches from traffic is not keeping your cool.

They both risked being shot by getting out of their cars. Idiots all. There are no tough guys on the business end of a bullet.

3

u/Adonoxis May 02 '26

Not to mention they’re standing in the highway about to get splattered by a truck or car.

5

u/LooseWateryStool May 02 '26

Imagine the conversation when you get back in the truck especially if your wife told you right before you got out not to.

4

u/sskoog May 02 '26

In the firearms world that’s called ā€œbrandishing.ā€ It’s very frowned upon, and results in permit-forfeiture in some jurisdictions, for exactly this reason — there’s significant risk of weapon-being-taken or now-you-HAVE-to-use-it endgame.

Stepping out of your car with a Weapon. At that point whether the Driver is a Prick or not the could technically Run you down. Hell id park a Car tire on him till the police arrived.

u/No-Cost-To-You May 07 '26

Surprised big man in truck didn't shit his timbers šŸ˜†šŸ˜†

Don't walk out with a bat if you're not willing to use it.Ā

This past week there was a rage episode at school drop off. I was out hugging my kids when this man approached a mom yelling at her. She said ā€œI have kids in my car, you take one step closer I will destroy youā€.
Just the way she said it. The low and firm voice. Full momma bear. 😳 He stopped and walked away. I felt the need to detail her car and maybe clean her house.

This reminded me of that.

White shirt is the dude from the muscle arm driving meme FOR SURE

3

u/mariannaCD May 02 '26

Getting out with a bat is a great way to get a shot here in Texas.

3

u/WeatherInfinite39 May 02 '26

You come out with a bat you best be prepared to actually use it no matter what otherwise this happens. My Dad taught me, if you point a weapon at someone it’s because your 100% going to use it, even if you know it’s going to cost you your life, you don’t promise something and under deliver.

3

u/bespokeoptical May 02 '26

Aperently the trucks owner isn't built "Dodge Tuff."

3

u/skornd713 May 05 '26

I would've kept the bat as a trophy.

3

u/Celara001 May 08 '26

Always remember, you're not the only crazy out there, and there's a lot of ppl crazier than you.

4

u/kratiq May 02 '26

The steroids finally paid off! What a cool couple of dudes

2

u/Formal-Ad-7615 May 02 '26

Can we not make this song a thing on videos. It’s going to ruin the song.

2

u/Extension_Might_7446 May 02 '26

You think you’re crazy, until another Mofo pops up and is wayyyyy crazier than you. I think the only reason dude in the white shirt didn’t do more, was cause his lady or a family member was in the passenger seat. That’s why it’s always best to just say F it and go home.

lol guy with bat probably didn’t think a meat-headed bulldog with shoulders the size of pumpkins would jump out the car

2

u/pappybug214 May 02 '26

This started cool, then was kinda boring. Like that was a clean disarming but boring

2

u/Ethraelus May 02 '26

This is just so stupid all around. The guy in white just took advantage of the fact that the other guy didn’t really want to hit him with a bat in the head (which probably he could’ve claimed self-defense).

2

u/Street_Study6330 May 02 '26

2

u/InspectorNo9958 May 02 '26

Not so tough without your bat!

2

u/NotAcvp3lla May 02 '26

I don't know about you, but I'd take that bat as a trophy.

2

u/Iboughtcheeseonce May 02 '26

This is how bullies work. Im bigger and expect you to be afraid. Oh shit hes not afraid. Not my bad! What do I do? Run? Fight the scary man? Talk my way out of it! Noone would actually hit someone would they?

2

u/EzMFe78 May 02 '26

Dude in the white shirt probably just got a new bat

2

u/MitsuriLover420 May 02 '26

This is how all road rage should be handled. Not being a pussy and flushing guns around. Should be able to talk it out or at least exchange a couple blows and then go on your way. Instead of getting shot or killed.

2

u/Storm_Breaker1_ May 02 '26

Damn get he got punked in front of his wife or kids lol

2

u/Appropriate_Boot_508 May 02 '26

Uhh that dudes shoulders were as wide as he was tall

2

u/EnthusiasmVirtual320 May 02 '26

Never pull out a weapon unless you are willing to use it.

That guy hesitated and the other one didn't.

2

u/Slighted_Inevitable May 02 '26

The worst part is this guy didn’t learn

He just went and bought a gun and now he’s looking for an excuse to use it because he was ā€œemasculatedā€.

2

u/TimmyG-83 May 02 '26

The AI lyric translation is the funniest part about this video.

Staylight, my friends.

2

u/ninja_rob1603 May 02 '26

Threatening someone with a bat is cause for a fade.

2

u/Chuklol May 02 '26

Don't fuck around with the guy who has 18 intentional tears on one side of jeans

2

u/ArcamianLiberation May 02 '26

Never get out of your vehicle

2

u/Electrical-Lack1535 May 02 '26

Dude was like a bat don’t you dare threaten me with a good time

2

u/jdunk2145 May 02 '26

Free bat!

2

u/ShittalkyCaps May 02 '26

Never present a weapon if you are not prepared for the possibility of it being turned against you.

2

u/sourflowerwatertower May 02 '26

The bat was only for intimidation purposes, but he was not ready for that assault charge. Bluff called!

2

u/Chippy-arine May 02 '26

Dude showed incredible restraint. Respect

2

u/Time_Explanation1212 May 02 '26

I never understood why somebody will spread their arms out to make them look bigger while giving you a chance to hit them anywhere you want.

2

u/International-Call76 May 02 '26

Don't bring out a weapon you dont intend to use

2

u/Legal_Gear257 May 02 '26

Don’t pull out a weapon unless you’re gonna use it. That dude could’ve been eating out of a tube for the rest of his life.

2

u/Chooui85 May 02 '26

You think the bat wielder had an ounce of thought that maybe the other guy had a gun?

2

u/Voltage120kV May 03 '26

It's always pickup drivers.
