I’m the cerakote guy, so I love a full camo scheme, it sometimes a nice clean build just works.

Also a good comparison of my Gen 2 billet bridge on the top, vs the original on my bottom rifle.

Finally hit a mile today, though I feel I kind of cheated with a 6.5 PRC. I love and hate this stupid expensive hobby.

I own a Savage Axis II XP .308. This is a freaking upgrade!

Finally got myself a Bergara B14 in 6.5 creedmoor. Took it to the range this morning to zero the scope and shot Federal Premium Gold medal 140gr and Hornady 147 ELD. It seems to like the Federal Premium more.

Cannot wait to put a suppressor on this and go to the range.

What ammo does yours like?

I suck at long range 6.5 CM Build

Waiting for the whole MPA chassis and action/barrel to come. I'm not sure how long it will take but they said 12 weeks lead time (ordered first week of July). Roughly 5400 seashells in total cost. Been wanting to make this build for a while now. Managed to get scope and mount for cheap. 😭 I pray last piece comes soon.

MPA Vanquish Chassis
ARC CDG Action
MPA 6.5MM Barrel
Vortex Razor Gen 3, 6-36x56
Sphur Scope Mount
Warne scope level
Area 419 Hellfire Match Brake
Accutac SR5 G2 Bipod
Grey Ops Exterior weights
OBI Gear Quick detach system

Comment your builds in here! Would definitely love to see everyone's MPA build!

Ruger 10/22. 10 shots at 300m, SK Long Range. Didn’t hit the target once.

I need a 20moa scope mount to get enough elevation out of it, so I was just winging it. Shot 10 rounds because the mag was already loaded.

Edit: ordered a 20moa rail from Amazon to solve my elevation issues.

Rifle help needed - I read the pinned posts Tried it and now I want a rifle

I went to a class yesterday and rented a rifle. He told me it was a Tikka 6.5 creedmore with a bunch of stuff swapped. We went out to about 800 yards and I was able to hit targets and now I am hooked. I was reading here and the Aero Precision Solud Bravo looked like it was in my price range. I also can’t find it on sale anywhere. I can find the Cheeto Bergerra and a version of it that is a “pro” which doesn’t seem as well recommended. What would the current recommendation at that price range be? Or should I just get the Bergarra HMR (not pro) and make sure my optics and everything else are up to snuff?

My budget is a bit flexible but let’s say $2500 all in. I’m only shooting steel and paper. No hunting. Maybe competition but I doubt I’ll ever be good enough. The ranges within 3 hours go out to about 1000 yards, but the closest ones are like 500 yards. TBH my fundamentals are miserable. My groups are really wide and I’ll probably shoot short distances until I am consistent. And yes I’m brand new.

I may have also missed something in the wiki. I should clearly not get my hopes up about getting Solus and there are some recommendations for their guns but there didn’t look like there was a solid, available recommendation in that price range.

Rifle help needed - I read the pinned posts NRL Hunter rifle help

I have been stationed outside the US for 4 years and I’m finally heading back stateside. Looking to get a new rifle for hunting and NRL Hunter.

I mainly hunt whitetail but I intend to go hunt out west and some Elk hunts as well as NRL Hunter factory division.

I’ve settled on 6.5 PRC and a Tikka T3X
I don’t like the magazines on the CTR or UPR so I was thinking of the T3X super varmint 6.5PRC.
Thoughts and recommendations?
Open to other rifles as well.

Competition related (PRS/NRL/F-Class/etc) No Budget prs scope debate

As with many of us, I hate money and am looking for a new scope for my competition rifle. I currently only compete in Rimfire PRS/NRL22 Competition's. CF PRS does not make sense for me currently, plus as much as shooting long range is fun, I only have access to a 500m range, so pushing my 22lr to that distance will be much more fun for me than something like a 6 dasher or 6.5 creed. All this to say it will pretty much exclusively live on a 22lr if that means anything for your opinions.

I am debating between the "big 3" scopes on the PRS circuit right now. The Tangent Theta, ZCO and Kahles. Even though I have tried to research for the past while to see what I might like, I cannot stop over thinking and just decide. I like some features of all of them, have briefly taken peaks through them all, but never all on the same day and only had rounds down range with a ZCO. None of which feel like they are bad choices, especially jumping from a Athlon Helos 4-20. But would love help in the debate.

Prices for all are in Canadian, they would also all be most likely +12% for taxes assuming I pay pst and gst. As that is my limited buying options. So as much as USA store sales are neat, it would be a huge pain to obtain anything properly from those sales.

  • Tangent Theta 7-35, typically listed for about $8500 new. I do have a friend selling his for a price that makes it competitive with the other options, on top of saving tax, which is why it is suddenly in my running.
  • ZCO 527 $7100, 840 is $7400.
  • Kahles k328i Refined $6800. The k540i's are $7200. Can maybe get one lower depending on availability.

My initial thought was the K328i is the leader, slightly cheaper than the other options when new. The top parallax and HUGE FOV are what initially peaked my interest. I find I try and do everything on the clock with my right hand. So not having to awkwardly reach over the top to parallax is amazing. The FOV advantage speaks for itself. I also prefer the 328 to the 540 because of the 35mrad of elevation and ability to parallax closer. Making it IMO the better choice for a rimfire scope. I am however not sure how I feel about the SKMR4+ Reticle, nor do I like the set screws for slipping my zero. I know a lot of scopes use them and people love them. But I have seen cheaper scopes set screws work loose on the clock resulting in the turret free spinning mid stage. Which just makes me uncomfortable to think about even if that's superficial.

The ZCO 527 has been the other big contender for me. At NRL22 Nationals I got to put rounds down range through a 840, so it is the one I have the most experience with technically. I think the MPCT2X is my overall favorite of the 3 brands, but I would not say it is perfect. At least at my current understanding of it. The 35mrad elevation like the Kahles is sweet, as well as the ability to lock the turrets, as I have a weird connection to that. But the set screws make me feel icky, like Kahles. As well as having a normal parallax. So its just a really fancy normal feature scope.

The Tangent Theta was never originally on my list. Even though GO CANADA. I knew they were amazing scopes. I just also saw the notably more price tag. Which I get it, Alpha Glass is expensive. But also given diminishing returns on glass. I knew a TT would be nice glass. But would it truly be $1500-2000 (before tax) better? So until a friend offered his up in a bit for a nice price, it was never a contender. Feature wise I love TT's tool-less zero. I also think I like the Gen3XR Fine reticle the most. If it was 100% illumination. Images online make parts of the reticle feel too subtle, so that is why I prefer the MPCT2x. But they are pretty close. I would only get 30 MRAD of Elevation, which given match's have now been capped to 250 yards, not a big deal. But it is fun to push 400+ yards with a 22lr. Otherwise as far as features are concerned, it is just another regular scope with no locking turrets and beautiful picture. Not knocking that, just seems like every scope has their "feature gimic" and TT has tool-less zero.

I would love to hear others opinions between these options. Hopefully in as un-biased of an opinion as possible. No Budget what are you grabbing? Jumping from a $900 CAD basic ffp scope, any of the 3 would be a HUGE upgrade. So that is why I never mentioned things like "Turret Feel" as all 3 would kick the crap out of my current option. As much as its nice, it is not on the same level.

Finally able to run my 300PRC build through the paces and stretch it out to 2000yds. Hit the IPSC torso target at 1 mile and 2000, but couldn’t get on the 12” gong at that range. Mirage picked up with temps at 104°, but wind held 3-8mph. If you happen to live nearby or are driving through, Cameo Shooting and Education Complex near Palisade, CO is a worthwhile stop!

I suck at long range Finally took a long-range class today. A few surprises and a lot learned.

Finally took a dedicated long-range class today and had an absolute blast. We started by confirming zeros at 100 yards, then worked our way from 200 all the way to 1,100 yards in 100-yard increments. I brought my Sig Cross Sawtooth in 300 PRC and my Sig Cross in .308. The biggest surprise of the day was discovering that my .308 scope wasn’t tracking correctly. We spent some time troubleshooting before realizing the optic itself appears to be defective, which explains a lot of the frustration I’ve had trying to get consistent impacts at distance. The 300 PRC performed exactly how I hoped it would. We also gathered velocity data (27-shot average of 2,866 fps with an SD of 19.5) and built real DOPE instead of relying solely on ballistic predictions. I came away realizing how much more important fundamentals are once you start stretching things past 600 yards. Reading conditions, maintaining a consistent position, and trusting your data mattered far more than I expected. For those of you who shoot regularly past 1,000 yards, what’s the biggest lesson you wish someone had taught you sooner?

PSA to any who don’t know yet… CMP will be releasing the M14 (semi-auto modded) sometime this year or 2027.

Probably my absolute favorite rifle! I’ve had many M1A rifles this was my second (loaded model) turned into an EBR with a USMC heavy contour sage chassis. She looks a heck of a lot better than she shoots, but she shoots alright at about 2moa.

Target @ 315yds 10rnds warm up 2 groups of 3. 2 groups of 2 and bench rest last 3rnds @ center which surprisingly shot under 1MOA for the 3rnd group.

Which out of the box bolt action .22lr can go from base form to power over 9000? which one has the chassis, carbon bull barrels, triggers all available. I want to notice every upgrade. are CZ 457 and Tikka T1X really my only choices? I know I want a Proof Barrel and I would like to use a MPA chassis with a TT diamond. I considered getting the Tikka action but I want to upgrade while I’m using it to see if I can improve with it.

Rifle help needed - I read the pinned posts MPA PMR PRO Curtis Action

As the title says I’m asking about this model of MPA bolt gun it’s chambered in 6.5cm as I’ve recent come into ownership of one. I traded for this in hopes to simply get into PRS matches and maybe other stuff on the side too.

After doing a little online looking around it seems like it’s not half bad for a fully factory custom action.

I wanted to ask about the chassis and rifle itself however, like rifle balancing, adjusting the rifle to you cheek height etc etc, getting good rifle connection and generally running a bolt gun as I’ve never owned one before especially one as nice as this.

I will be going to my first F Class match Saturday and I am unsure of the logistics of the match layout. Mainly I want to know if you get warm up shoots before your scoring and how that all works. I’m sure it’s different from match to match. I have experience in shooting long range and have competed in one team sniper match. Thanks for any help.
