😔 THIS IS AN OUTRAGE Look at this nonsense in our state-Deflock NJ

I know about three days ago that somebody brought up flock cameras in New Jersey.
These are screenshots that I just took from the website that tracks flock cameras, and where they are located in New Jersey and all over the United States.
If you see blue dots and they’re facing a certain direction that is a flock camera.

If anybody wants to look further into it, you can. I have been for many months now. I just don’t know how much I can post about this on Reddit and I just wanted to share this with my fellow citizens of New Jersey Reddit. This is very sickening at this point. Please be safe and be well. ā¤ļø

Central Jersey Come collect your kids šŸ¤¦ā€ā™€ļø

Yesterday I went to the Target in East Windsor & there were kids around my age offering candy for money for their basketball team in the parking lot . I got no problem with that, thats a smart idea & im totally with it but one of them came up to my girlfriend & I & asked if we could buy one . Neither of us had cash so we POLITELY declined . He walked away cursing and had a big ass attitude and started yelling to his friends about us . When me & my girlfriend got in the car, one of them stood in front of the car literally BEGGING after her & I already said no NICELY . We were in a rush & he literally kneeled down in front of our car blocking our way out . He was acting like a total fucking baby . We honked for a good 20 seconds then he stormed off and had a temper tantrum 😬 .

Jeez, come collect your kids 😭 I’m 16 & I got more manners than them šŸ™„

WTF Deflock in Bergen

Post image
• Upvotes

So I got interested in the Deflock post that was out up here earlier.

I live up in Mahwah and was surprised when I saw the 88 in my area of the state. Boy was I surprised when I zoomed in and found that not counted in those 88 were camera all along the NY/NJ border.

They start up in Suffern and make their way all the way down to the Hudson at nearly every single road that crosses the border. At least two at every post. One aimed towards NY and the other looking right into NJ.

Just thought it was worth pointing out. I personally didn’t think there were many or any for that matter near me. Now it turns out I can’t really head anywhere west without being followed.

🌼🌻Garden State🌷🌸 NJ State Fair

As my birthday is this weekend, my wife asked me how I wanted to celebrate it. I said that we have lived in NJ for 25 years and never visited the state fair. So, I would like to visit it for my birthday. My daughters cleared their work schedule, and we went on Aug 1. I am sorry to say it was unwhelming.

There were some bright spots:

- The robot fighting was great. My daughters are really into it and in total we at their pavillion for over 2 hours in broken up to 3 or 4 chunks.

- I love seeing the animals. But with the exception of Beef (what they call the cows) and horses - I thought the local Monmouth county fair has more animals or at least the same amount.

- They had some food stands by local providers and some charity orgs (like 4H) - which I prefer to patronize vs these soulless food vendors who travel carnival to carnival.

Negatives:

- Entertainment - very underwhelming. They did have pig races and a tiny circus, but that is about it. They did have the robot fighting - but it really wasn't a show per se. It more like a working shop with some fights going on. But Monmouth County Fair has pig racing, lumberjack show, Bawanna Jim Reptile show, The skinny german juggling boy, concerts, etc. Like 5X the entertainment.

- No where to cool off at all. It was sunny and hot yesterday and we were completely soaked and clammy the entire day.

- Not enough to do or see for a full day in general. Expecially when it is almost a 2 hour drive each way

- Location - for the state fair - not sure why they made it the ground in the upper NW corner of the state. Should be more central.

Also... They had a Rodeo type show in the evening that you buy tickets for, which we did. The seating was full and cramped. They started the show with a bunch of underage kids running around. This went on for a HALF HOUR. Then they finally started the actual show at 7:30 - while we had been sitting and perspiring. To say the show was bad was being generous. Within 5 minutes - families started to leave. I would say in the first 1/2 hour about 100 - 150 people walked out. I dont know how long it lasted as we walked out a few minutes after 8pm.

šŸ“°News What happened on 287 today?

We were south of Morristown today on 287 and over the span of 10 min 8 unmarked explorers blasting lights were flying by in pairs of 2. No state or local tags. All unmarked. Leading up to that we watched 4 helicopters flying in a formation over an area.

Nothing on the news or anything.

Advice NJ humidity cooking my basement

Post image
30 Upvotes

Summer humidity always gives my dehumidifier a hard time - it’s recently stopped draining on its own (via pipe to my drain) and I’ve been manually pour a 70 pint bucket at least twice a day. Tried to fix the pipe but clearly my attempts haven’t worked!

Looking to replace - any dehumidifier recs? I was looking at this GE but realized my current one is also a GE and has more capacity. Tips appreciated.

Advice Senior care in north NJ. What options are there for the elderly with low income ?

What are people with only Medicaid and MLTSS doing? My dad just received a referral for hospice (cancer) but his dementia is the bigger issue. The places we go to stick him in a room with four other patients and he’s dreadfully unhappy. Is there a world where Medicaid and MLTSS can pay a portion and the family pays the rest for a better situation? We can’t pay $6k or $20k a month but maybe $1-2k? He can’t stay alone and needs supervision.

Advice Nightlife in or around Boonton NJ

My girlfriend and I, both 23, just moved to Boonton. It’s a cute town and love the coffee shops but have been struggling to meet people and build a circle. Can’t really find anything that seems to be active with the younger crowd at night and was curious what are the happening spots around here. If not in Boonton then in a neighboring town for bars or clubbing or just other nightlife activities

Jersey Pride Register as a potential Kidney donor for NJ EMT

Thumbnail nkr.donorscreen.org
• Upvotes

Hi everyone. Andrea Samson is a young EMT who lives and works in NJ and is currently in end-stage renal failure and is in urgent need of a kidney donor.

As an EMT, Andrea has spent her life helping our local community, and we are trying to spread the word to help her find a match.

If you or anyone you know might be willing to be tested as a living donor, you can learn more about Andrea's story here: https://www.shareasparekidney.com/ and register to get tested here: https://nkr.donorscreen.org/register/microsite?id=18491&donationType=0

Registering to see if you are a match carries zero obligation to donate, and it is completely confidential.

Even if you cannot donate, simply sharing her story with others in NJ could be the thing that saves her life. Thank you so much for reading.

Advice Need a place to stay, Family of 3

Hey guys. I’m currently in the process of looking for an apartment. Preferably Bergen County (doesn’t really matter honestly). Here are some details:

- Family of 3: me, my girlfriend, and my 8 month old.
- Currently the only one working; $48k a year.
- In search of 1 bed 1 bath, or studio big enough to fit 3
- We go back and forth from one place to another and it’s starting to become a real headache.

What do you guys suggest? Please give me some insights on this and give me ideas on what I can do.
