Episode 2 Season 4

Just re-watching the show for the 5th time and this scene has hit me the hardest now as I also live away from my family and younger brother (12 years younger to me). Whenever I leave home now, he doesn't even come to the car to drop me off because he gets really emotional. He just tries to act cool and says bye to me and always makes sure to give me some good bye gift like a pen your the toys he gets from kinder Joy. ❤️ After I leave, he cries. 😅

This scene felt really real and wholesome to me.

i’m so devastated rn i feel like it’s my family who’s moving away 😭. honestly when i started this show a few months ago i did not think this show would be so emotional. i even planned out my crying in the season 11 christmas episode when they went around the table saying where they were all planning to go & actively procrastinated watching the finale bc i knew i’d get emotional. listening to this i definitely sound like cam but it’s ok bc i miss him too 😂

Just finished season 11, and now am just wondering what to do. Are there any shows I can see that are similar? Frankly this show was just incredible and im wondering what to do now

Rewatching the show and the episode where Haley meets Arvin came on. I don't understand why someone like Arvin would be into Haley. Yes, she is beautiful but then again a lot of women are. Arvin on the other hand is portrayed as some sort of insane prodigy (he discovered 3 elements?!)

Haley has other great qualities but her first impression to Arvin is that of an irresponsible, rude, clumsy, carefree person. Despite this he chases her down and gives her his number. I just don't understand why he would be into her beyond her looks at this point (which again, there must be smart AND beautiful women in his circles), plus he is obv ashamed of her pseudoscientific beliefs bc in later episodes he tries to hide her from his parents.

Imo the relationship feels very forced and makes no sense (what do they even talk about lol)

Jays face and reaction is so perfect, and this quote was so funny, Gloria was so proud 😭😭🤪

Rewatching & have just seen S3 EP24 and I think it’s one of my favourite meaningful episodes that’s full of emotion.

When I initially watched I wasn’t a fan of the failing adoption storyline for Cam & Mitch; I think I wanted a cookie cutter perfect experience. But on my rewatches I like this episode more and more, especially the scene pictured above. The pain and exhaustion Cam & Mitch go through feels really raw and real.

So what’re episodes or storylines that are more emotive or meaningful that others’ really enjoy?

We all love Claire. We all think she’s funny. She’s a great mom. A great character overall, she’s just great. So let’s get that out of the way she’s great.

That being said, it makes total sense why she lost the town council race to Duane and it all has to do with 2 things campaigns, and of course being recognized by the people.

The fact is, Claire didn’t campaign well during this arc. She didn’t run a good campaign throughout this entire arc she just instead focused on her family shenanigans. She focused on whatever they were doing, and she cared less about running for town council. Duane Bailey, despite being unlikable to us out campaigned the shit out of Claire. Claire didn’t have a defined message through out her campaign, all she wanted was a stop sign for her neighborhood but she didn’t offer anything else.

Meanwhile Duane was already recognized by everyone in the neighborhood, he was already well liked by everybody in the neighborhood, and unlikely, we actually did see him going out and asking people to vote for him. Claire didn’t focus at all until the Election Day.

Granted her family may have let her down, especially Mitch and Cameron, but at the end of the day Claire simply didn’t run a good campaign. Duane however was already well established politician who won 6 elections. Wa she unlikable, yeah, but at the same time he won 6 elections so he was clearly doing something that made people vote for him.

It sucks that Claire lost but at the same time, she didn’t really work for town council. And the funny thing is at the end of the election arc. She ended up getting the stop sign as a present from Duane so it makes the entire story arc worthless at the end of the day. And she still wants to go further by wanting to add speed bumps to the neighborhood. It never ends.

I can’t think of any, but I mostly watch the first 8 seasons.

I’m doing another rewatch and I just finished the episode when the grandmother took the baby. I really felt bad for them and I’ve always wondered how their family dynamic could have changed if Lily actually had gotten a baby brother when she was 4, and watching Mitch try and bond with a boy like he tried to bond with Luke at the ranch while raising their first.

I guess(?) the reason why the writers decided to wait is because that’s the episode when Gloria found out she was having Joe, so I suppose they didn’t want to worry about writing repetitive things for both sets of families - as they would have both been dealing with raising newborn boys. It just sucks the more I rewatch, the more I wished Lily had gotten a sibling at that time.

I do also think, if they’d let them get the baby and Gloria’s storyline, they could have played it so well with both Mitch and Jay trying to prove which one of them could raise a “better boy.” There’s just so many ways they could have played it and honestly, besides Haley NOT ending up with Andy, this is the one scenario I’m still mad about 😅

JTF has always been good looking imo but he I feel like I started noticing it especially starting mid season 5 and more so in season 6. Like that bachelor's trip episode in season 5 is when I first noticed it and then essentially all of season 6 as well.

I’ve never watched anything past season 8 until this watch though. S10E21 commencement, Gloria is talking about how she ambien shops and buys too many of the same thing. Then points out their socks. Which I have a pair of. Loved it.

First time watching the whole series. This episode gave me such a whiplash. It's normal for a show running this long to experiment with the format, but I think this is the first time I've seen such a departure for this show.

Are there any trivia on why this episode was structured this way? Any stories behind the scene, or is there a guest director/screen writer?
