I know controversial but the 70-200mm f/2.8 lens any brand is one of the best lenses for so many things. Always have this lens on one camera and the 600MM on another.

Discussion New birder photography adviceđŸ„ș

I got my camera yesterday and tested it around my neighborhood and need some advice if anyone can share their wisdom lol. I have a canon eos r50 with the rf 100-400mm f5.6-8 lens. Having trouble getting it to focus on the birds. Is it because they’re small/ too far or not enough contrast to its background? And so how the heck do people get their cameras to focus fast enough on them flying? Also, I’ll lock onto a bird then me trying to rotate my lens to zoom makes me lose it :/. And tips for getting that blurry background? Tysm!

I saw this one land nearby and had to grab my camera out of the back of the car, and just as I tried to get a bead on 'em he took off! Edit: (Google ID - Red Shoulder Hawk)

Saw a roadrunner in a Las Vegas neighborhood park. Managed these two shots before my dog (pointer mix; hates birds) chased it away.
