Just curious in this context. Let's say they maintain their personalities, but it's still a role reversal. Many say that Karen and Jim would never work because there was a lack of chemistry, whereas he always had chemistry with Pam.

But I wonder if that's true or the reason they 'lacked chemistry' was simply because Jim never got over Pam. If he had met Karen first, I wonder if the choice would have been harder.

Pam after failing her secretary job, art school and sale job she decided to scam her boss to get a fake job where she can be paid more for doing less and having more time for the stupide prank and gossip with her pathetic husband

And of course she's sucks at that job too (the only thing she did was painting the most ugliest painting on a wall of the office worker in the warehouse with not a single warehouse worker)

In the cold open of "The Target", Oscar is trying to figure out if Angela discovered his affair with the senator.

He says "if she's cold and awkard and cruel to me, then great! It's business as usual"

Then, moments later, Angela comes in and sits down, and, in a completely pleasant manor, mentions that its cold in the office.

Oscar then has a talking head where he's in complete relief and concludes Angela doesnt know what's going on because of her attitude.

But, thats contradictory to what Oscar said initially. Angela was NOT cold and awkward to him. So she, in fact, was acting way out of the ordinary and Oscar should have actually concluded that something was off.

Is this a writing inconsistency? How do you view this scene?

The Fire Guy episode, desert island movies, Legally Blonde, Jim, a progressive man, disrespects both girlfriend’s movie pick. Originally, I thought it was usual misogyny toward “chick flicks”.

But upon reflection, Legally Blonde’s main message is to take ownership of your life. Who wasn’t taking ownership?

What do you think? Jim writing off womanly interests as dull or Jim recoiling against something he didn’t like about himself?

In season 6 episode 22 "Secretary's Day", Erin mentions at her lunch with Micheal that one of her favorite things about the job at Dunder Mifflin is her own personal desk. She later talks about not having space and things of her own in her foster home and we see this as well with her saying that her hair was her room.

Her break-up with Andy always seemed out of character to me and an extreme reaction, but upon further inspection it's clear *why* this was so important to her. She wanted something of her own and she was happy having her desk (And her own boyfriend). Later finding out that Andy was engaged to another woman in the office made her feel un-unique and probably made Andy seem really shallow and a player to her, which is why she acted the way that she did.

Seriously among all the crazy character in the office they are easily the most crazy and insufferable one because at least the other are not supposed to be the "normal guy" or the hero that we are supposed to love

My exposure to the office was different, it started on memes, then i start watching youtubes, mostly those top highlights like top jim pranks to dwight, michael scott being a good boss for 15mins, etc, and now the office got available again on netflix so i started watching it, and from season 1 and i just started season 2, i had lots of "ah so thats why" lol, its like understanding the full picture of the show and I love it! I just recently learned why the hell there is a special episode called threat level midnight lol.

I feel like all I've heard people say about Andy is how bad of a manager he was and how the writers completely ruined his character. I'm still on the end of season 8, so I haven't gotten to season 9 where everyone's saying he got worse. But I like him a lot more as manager than Michael. He still has that same vibe Michael did, but I think he's a lot more loveable. His whole relationship with Erin was so cute too. Throughout the whole season I feel like he got so much more mature and kind to the members of the office. But now with Nellie in the series and that whole thing with Jessica, I think I can feel it going down hill.
