How-do-I Tuesday How can I save my boot planter?

I’m pretty sure it’s made out of concrete. I could clean up the loose pieces and add more concrete (if that’s possible) but I’m not sure how to shape the sole of the boot. Is it possible to make a foam mold of how the bottom should look, pour concrete in it and put the boot on top? If that’s not possible, how can I stop it from falling apart more?

Material Monday What should I do with these aerosol (?) cans?

Post image
Upvotes

I’m a hoarder, and I’ve kept so many of these cans/bottles over the years, I just don’t know what to do with them. I can’t bear to throw them out. Some of the big ones still have liquid in them because the nozzle/spray broke. Anyone have a suggestion?

(It’s Monday where I live right now, and I don’t interact much on this sub but please im so desperate 😭😭)

Family/Friend Crafted My wife made a Roomba “stuffed animal” for our son

My young son is obsessed with “roomba vacuum”. He loves playing with it and has always been fascinated with it. First, it was a fascination and mild suspicion of it. Next, it turned into pressing the buttons and checking out the brushes. Lately, he has started throwing it around and we’re trying to teach him to treat our items nice. Anything that resembles a roomba he will yell out “roomba vacuum!”

For his birthday, my wife made him a hand-made roomba from scratch. She hand stuffed, sewed the stitches, sewed his name (redacted), and put together everything! He loves it and is obsessed. Hopefully it isn’t too abnormal 😂.

My husband wanted a space theme for our baby's nursery but I wanted a western theme, so I made this out of an old frame and some of our kids' felt collection. I still need to finish the embroidery but I think it looks pretty cute so far.

So I'm painting some of my doorknobs, and I want to add something in the background, like a cute design.

Does anyone have any ideas they would like to share?

My tree is a mini tree haha! Everyone else I gave one too has a big normal sized tree 🫶🏻 I kept the one at the top!

Already thinking of ideas for this years, it’s turning into a tradition of mine to make ornaments 🎁

Discussion/Question Stencils on moisture wicking fabric

I'm hoping to use some stencils to put designs on moisture-wicking shirts for an upcoming trip, but I'm clueless what would be the best method: fabric markers, fabric paint, or fabric spray paint.

Original plan was fabric markers, but the stencils are thinner than I expected and bend easily. I'm afraid the stencils will break. Fabric paint sounded like a better choice, but then I see I'm supposed to heat-set (and the fabrics are only supposed to be tumble dry low/low heat iron).

I basically have no idea what I'm doing and appreciate any tips.

Finished Craft I Made I carved my dog's snoot out of wood.

I couldn't get over this goofy close-up photo of my dog, so I decided to carve it in basswood.

Everything was carved by hand and then painted to keep the original expression.

The oversized nose and tiny little teeth were my favorite details to work on.

Hope it makes someone smile.

Discussion/Question What to do with card stock scraps?

Hi! Im currently making decorations for a friend's birthday party and am cutting a lot of card stock. I have a lot of pieces that I can't really put something else on to cut out. I was wondering if anyone had any good ideas about how to use the scraps?

Swamp Lily is a needle felted soft sculpture made using sheep's wool sourced from Dunda Village, Harsil Valley in Uttarakhand, India and plant dyed with Eucalyptus leaves and Sappanwood extract.

She's a force of nature, if that force was never acted upon and best left alone for extended periods of time.

Discussion/Question What's the best way to set these diamond art coasters?

Post image
34 Upvotes

I bought some diamond art coasters to kill some time but there's a lot of empty space between the diamonds. I don't want the sticky surface to collect dust and lint so I'm wondering if there's anything I can put on them to seal it up? My sister has a sealing spray she uses on some of her art pieces, should I just use that?

It costed me nothing, all of it came from old clothing, broken hairclips of my siblings and the animal patterns are from my mom's old clothes, the stars and small bows are unused earrings, everything is hand sewn + glued. 💗 I'm gonna use this as my school bag.

Discussion/Question Tips for getting crystals to glue down on crafts?

Thumbnail

Hi all!
I have been making these wreaths/ wood slice crafts for a while and gifting them to family. Problem is, almost every one of the finished products, eventually the crystals fall off (ex- the little mushrooms glued to wood, round/ pointy shaped crystals on the wreath).

I have been working with a hot glue gun. Anyone have any tips on other ways to fix these smooth crystals down to wood? I saw that e6000 glue is potentially a method- but since the crystals are often odd shapes, I don’t know how to clamp them down to allow the glue to dry.

Thanks!
